About 97 percent of hospitalizations are tied to unvaccinated people
COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths are increasing across the United States as the delta variant spreads, putting unvaccinated people in danger.
Over the past seven days, COVID-19 hospitalizations in the U.S. increased by 36 percent and deaths rose by 26 percent, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky warned Friday. Unvaccinated Americans account for 97 percent of these hospitalizations.
“There is a clear message that is coming through: This is a pandemic of the unvaccinated,” Walensky told reporters as public health officials pleaded with Americans to get the shot.
Fully vaccinated individuals with either two shots of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or one shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine are protected from severe disease, hospitalization and death.

Where else is it a requirement?
Abinader's government wants DR citizens to be vaccinated because CV19 is a pandemic.
Meaning it is global, what happens outside of the DR impacts what happens inside of the DR.
Since the bulk of international arrivals in the DR is from the US, what happens in the US is very relevant to what happens in the DR.
The DR and US have some of the most lax travel restrictions in regard to covid.
Most of the world still has far more restrictive travel regulations.
That's why there are few Can and EU arrivals in the DR.
The large amount of unvaccinated US citizens should be a concern for the DR, in regard to tourism.
US vaccination hesitancy driven by politics is a problem for the DR.
Abinader realizes this, that is why the push is on to vaccinate Dominicans who also have been hesitant to vaccinate.
Pregnant women are also of concern, as many out of fear do not vaccinate.
The virus can only be slowed down by vaccinations building antibodies, having had covid, or to let it run free.
The economical impact up to now and going forward is obvious, just observe the current global situation.
