Well, these are the photos of a regular public beach in Antigua. I took them myself. Just a beach near the road, no hotels, no resorts. No garbage, no vendors, no shltty music, no annoying people. Absolutely safe. You can just park your car and enjoy the beach. You can leave your belongings on the beach, and nobody will steal them while you are swimming. The water is clean, no big waves. Now tell me where I can find something like that in DR. And if you want to see how a really good beach in front of a resort should look, google Jolly Beach in Antigua.

Isn't this thread about beaches in the DR?
Yep. Tell me where in DR I can find at least one public beach like that. With the water and sand clean like that, right near the road, with no garbage, where you don't have to watch your back because somebody will try to steal something from your car while you are swimming, where you don't see annoying people asking you for money, no annoying music and absolute silence, etc, etc. And then ask yourself, why some people here post that some of DR beaches are the best in the Caribbean. The only people who can buy that bullshlt are the ones who have never seen any better. Or, as I said before, you are posting here 24/7 to convince yourselves that you live in a paradise and not in a shlithole, some kind of a group therapy for 65+ year olds?

You make some good points however I'm talking about beaches for swimming.

If you feel that way, why post here then? Let us continue our "group therapy for 65+ year olds" and don't post, move on. Honestly your negative posts are getting old.

I have been at this beach three times. Water is clean, sand is clean, very few people, and there was a garbage can full of garbage but no garbage in the water or sand. https://gorgeousbeachhouseperchedrightovertheocean.touext.com/

IMO people like certain beaches for different reasons. What I like, you may not like, etc. The good thing about the DR, there are quite a few beaches to choose from.

Totally agree. I take my 2 great nephews to Boca Chica beach and it's great for us. I don't have to worry about watching them 24/7 because the breakers keep the water calm. It's expensive for food but these kids don't have anythiing so I just don't care. Do the 236 vendors annoy me? Not any more. A simple shake of the head sends them away. Just not a biggie.

Those pictures look like Bahia de Aguila here in the DR, just not as nice.

It would appear you would be happier on another island. One that is better than than any of the ones here.

The DR, after all, is not for everyone.

Having read good things about Juanillo Beach in Cap Cana we decided to pay a visit today.

What a huge disappointment. The beach itself was OK (no better than Uvero Alto) but the restaurant was dreadful. Poor quality and overpriced.

This is my first time in the Dominican Republic at this time of year and I'm really disappointed with the volume of seaweed I have to navigate before I reach the sea (Uvero Alto).

Which is the best, seaweed free, publicly accessible beach on the east coast, ideally for a bit of paddle boarding? I don't mind driving but not too far!

Thank you!

One of the Best Beaches in the World is in the DR..............

Playa Rincón is a tropical wonder that you must visit on your trip to Samaná Bay. This is considered one of the best beaches in the world due to its turquoise-blue water, 2.5 miles of fine white sand and lush surroundings and can be found approximately one hour away by car from our Marina in Samaná
It's a great option but he'll have to drive 5 hours to be there (from Uvero Alto)

This pic makes me wanna rent a car and take a drive down there.
Indeed, and you'll enjoy the view from Oviedo to Pedernales and how bad the road is there. The Gov have kept silent after years heavily promoting local tourism to that area, after the collapse (the cliff) of the road to Pedernales months ago. Of course, the cruiseport is finished and the AI hotels are 85% finished but that would be enjoyed by tourists, not locals.

Macao Beach is very dangerous for swimming. But very good for fresh fish at a nice price..........
They have that small restaurant off the beach area that serves fresh fish, has some picnic tables, etc? Been awhile since I have been there. You are right the beach is pretty rough, nice beach though.
