Well I for one have really enjoyed this mid-day curfew weekend. I was dreading it, but decided to make the best of it and make a plan. Which was to go out for a nice walk beside the sea at 11am each day, then a swim and sunbathe, lunch then an afternoon / evening of doing all those little...
With respect, the AI's are also suffering (just look at what Hard Rock is charging at the moment for example). One of them was just fined RD$ 4M for having a party and MITUR made it very clear in their message that any further breaches will mean licences are revoked. This will not be seen as...
I tried to get a table for lunch at Tipico Bonao the other day, both branches had 14 tables on the waiting list. Definitely plenty of money sloshing around. Hotels are also doing very well at the moment, mainly because it's the only place you can go and have a drink and a meal out.
Gosh this just be 90 times that we have posted that pharmacies were never ever told to close. All that was said is that restaurants and bars were delivery only. Pharmacies open as normal
Seriously. There is nothing saying that pharmacies must shut. It just says that their deliveries can continue until 11pm. Why are people struggling so much to understand this.
They have already backtracked on the 12 mid-day curfew for people who have been staying in resorts as they realised that this will kill that business. I can't see that they can keep on with the mid-day one for very long.
Exactly, that's what the government is saying must happen. Grocery stores like supermarkets and pharmacies stay open as normal, as do offices and other shops. Gyms, churches and parks close, beaches stay open.
You just click through that page and it then gives you the QR code. It's the same for the customs part, they say that you don't need to complete it for salida, and you just accept. I did it for someone tonight.
New Year's Eve and the capital is weirdly silent. Absolutely silent. Not a car on the Malecon, you can hear the waves and the sound of a solitary dog barking. I have never in 10 years seen the capital like this, it's surreal.
It's a bad translation. The actual decree in Spanish says Colmadones. They are talking about colmados, not grocery stores as such. Supermarkets and food stores can stay open as normal. Colmados can't have anyone eating or drinking inside, only can open for takeaway sales or deliveries.
It doesn't say "grocery stores". It says Colmadones. There is a big difference between Supermercado Nacional and a colmado. It's basically saying that restaurants, bars and colmados cannot have anyone drinking or eating inside, these will be take-away and delivery only. Supermarkets and...

Yes but it's better to use a taxi that has permission. Travel to and from airports is allowed but the person picking you up should have your flight details etc if they don't have permission to drive during the curfew.
Where does it say that pharmacies have to close and be delivery only? Read it carefully. It says bars colmados and restaurants are delivery only. And it says delivery drivers from these and from pharmacies can work until 11pm. Nothing about pharmacies having to close.
