    Default New $100 USD Note

Question, has anyone tried to exchange, at a DR "cambio", the new $100 USD note?

The Feds issued 3.5 billion of these bills on 8 Oct 2013. A lot of banks in the US (at least in my region) have stop circulating the older $100 bills.

Just wandering if it has had a chance to "sink in" in DR, and if anyone had trouble with the cambios recognizing these bills as legitimate currency.
I know news and money travel fast- just checking.

    I don't know.
But if you want to see them really get confused, give them a hand full of $2.00 bills to exchange!

Talking I have a deal for you

I will trade you three crisp new (2013 serial number) 2,000 peso notes per new US$100 note -- no need to bother with cambios and you can't beat the exchange rate!

    Talking $2 notes

That never gets old for me. I guess it is because my sense of humor is warped. Some of my favorite reactions over the years:

    - Is it Canadian?
    - How much is it worth?
    - This is not real money!
    - Is it Haitian?

Last week I changed the new $100USD at a cambio and also deposited some in Banco Popular and there were no questions at either place.
