Question, has anyone tried to exchange, at a DR "cambio", the new $100 USD note?

The Feds issued 3.5 billion of these bills on 8 Oct 2013. A lot of banks in the US (at least in my region) have stop circulating the older $100 bills.

Just wandering if it has had a chance to "sink in" in DR, and if anyone had trouble with the cambios recognizing these bills as legitimate currency.
I know news and money travel fast- just checking.

I have a deal for you

I will trade you three crisp new (2013 serial number) 2,000 peso notes per new US$100 note -- no need to bother with cambios and you can't beat the exchange rate! :)

$2 notes

That never gets old for me. I guess it is because my sense of humor is warped. Some of my favorite reactions over the years:

- Is it Canadian?
- How much is it worth?
- This is not real money!
- Is it Haitian?

I don't know.
But if you want to see them really get confused, give them a hand full of $2.00 bills to exchange!

Let me see??? I give you a nice and crisp c-note for three unissued, made in France, worthless 2,000 DOP notes. Not!

Last week I changed the new $100USD at a cambio and also deposited some in Banco Popular and there were no questions at either place.

$2 notes

You can get them on a walk in basis at the Federal Reserve Bank in New York - as many as you want, cash purchase only of course.

You can still get them from Banks. All you have to do is go in and order them. I used them for tips for years. You give somebody a couple of 2 dollar bills for a tip, they remember you forever.

Some banks have them available in the safe. (we're talking about U.S. Banks)

I say Kudos to that!
The DR bank is more up to date than my US bank. I tried to deposit some new Benji's in the ATM in the US and it would
not recognize the bills.
