If you live in the DR right now, you may have a chance because deadbeat dad's aren't very well tolerated by the legal system. However, if you are chasing it from another country, best of luck. I wouldn't spend too much time chasing it in this case...any man who abandons their children is not worth your child's time and pain. Financially, if he is the typical Dominican labourer, you make more in a few days than they do all month.
However, perhaps if you post details of this man's name, where he lives, where you met him, where he works, maybe someone knows him and can help. It's a shot in the dark, but sometimes it's a very very small world.
