Default banco de Progreso is the worst bank

Since banco de Progreso merged with Scotia it became a total nightmare. Two weeks ago I submitted international transfer from DR to European Bank, it took 2 weeks to call and explain them how to work, the lost information, then wrote a wrong data in SWIFT. Daily calls several times made me crazy, they respond 1 call from 10 and then nobody is able to understand.

I recommend you to think twice. Many customers in that bank had the same problems, some closed their accounts.

So sad! This country goes downhill very fast.
What we - educated expats can do to stop it? Let us discuss.

Become Dominican and run for President.

How exactly is this connected to the merger? Did they change all the people working in the bank? Does Scotia Bank not do international transfers?

In the DR it's "too big to perform".

Nothing. Most of us came here as we are sick of the way our "home countries" are run.
If you don't like your bank switch banks.
Don't like your neighbors or neighborhood. Move
If you don't like it in the DR and want it to be like home. You know what to do.

I have nothing but praise for Progreso

Since the merger my incoming wires arrive much faster
Admittedly, I do not wire out

I expect with all banks that the service varies branch to branch
