The "DR Debates" forum is handled by Pib and Hillbilly.
They have free rain to steer that anyway they want.
If you get deleted from that forum, it's their doing and
we back them 100%
When you get deleted, it's not personal and sometimes
innocent posts get chopped as well if they relate directly
to the initial deleted post.
Don't worry, I get deleted every day, usually just before I
hit the reply button responding to certain posts.
I have learn't to be semi-tactful and really don't give a

I, too, wonder what makes one post appropriate and another not. I know Robert has final say, and I respect that, but some of the posts just go way overboard especially those that contain personal attacks on people because they have a difference of opinion.

Just like you don't have to watch adverts, you don't have to read threads/posts. If an individual is offended by a certain thread, but they continue to read it and even post in it, not much I can do.
If a particular post or thread offends, then use the "email the moderator" function and it will be taken care of one way or the other.

And that reminds of the NIGHT i tried parking my old--and beat-up--vehicle across the street from this club that I used to frequent.
The valet kid comes running and says, "You can't park here", and I say, "Why not?" He says, "Because you can't", then I say, "Show me where it says that I can't. This is not the club's space, so show me."

Golo - The original post was fine. I read it as a news item and I thought to myself interesting information. It wasn't until we started getting all the TMI details from other posters that it got to be a little much.
My problem is with the posts that are down right abusive to people and that describe very graphic sexual details. I think we could all live without the visualization of Criss and some prostitute, no? I realize that it's not for the faint of heart and I don't consider myself to be that kind of person. I just feel that some of you guys need to tone it down a little. DR1 is a Web site, but it's also a business. I'm sure if the advertisers were aware of some of the content on this board, they wouldn't be very happy.
I just think a little consistency is needed with the thread closing and deleting processes. That's all. And as I said, I respect that it's Robert's decision and I also know that if I don't like it, don't read it.

How about we password protect the "General Forum"?
Better still, let's nominate a moderator?
Message boards ebb and flow. If enough people complain about certain posting styles, then I will go with the majority and stop it permanently.

I agree with Debs. Some of the comments are outright sexist and/or disrespectful to women. I resent having to endure vulgarity to be accepted in the inner circle of the DR1 "boys". And I'm no delicate flower either.
I went to visit an 80 year old lady one day and she was watching some talk show and she said to me " What is happening to the world? Everyone is having sex with everyone else's husband. And some of these shows tell you all!! " But I noticed she didn't change the chanel even though I was there for a visit.
I don't care about dirty language; it does not bother me. But a couple of my posts get deleted here and in the Debates forum. I don't use the 'F' word in a public setting, so what gives?

I don't think password protecting or having a moderator is the answer since it is open and it is general. I think consistency is. To me, that means if it falls under the categories you defined earlier, it gets locked or deleted.
