There is a "new" game in the Dominican Republic called Super Keno (Caribbean Keno or Dominican Keno) that is design excluively to take away your money. There is no way in the world that you could win this game, except if you have unlimited amount of money and then you will had spen more money than the jackpot anyway.

The scam works this way.... an attractive lady will meet you at the door an offer you some free chips to try a "new" game. They target exclusively foreigners --US, Canadians, European...

If you accept the "kind" invitation she will escort you to the Super Keno table. You will notice that tha table is separated from the rest of the Casino and roped off. There a young and good looking gentlemen will greet you and start you off in the game. Once you run out of cash you will be asked if you have a credit card, a Visa or Master Card (They both are aware of the scam but cannot do anything to stop it)... DON'T Give Your credit Card!!!!

The game consist in trying to accumulate 100 points or more to win the jack pot. You bet to take out a small ball (like a ping pong ball) and the dealer will read the ball and tell you what it means (you will not see the number in the ball).

You will reach the high 90 points rather qickly giving you the illusion of winning or been soooo close of winning that you will be ignorant of the doubling bet and how your credit card is been depleated of funds. You will eventually run out of money to bet or won't be able to cover the bet. At that time you will reach out for another credit card or quit.

We have testimonies of dozens of personas whos vacations and honey moons have been ruined due to this game. The losses are betneen $5,000.00 to $20,000.00 (US).

To top it off, the gaming comission of the DR admit that they do not inspect Casino which means that casino operators can do very much as they please.

At this moment there is a law suit filed at a DR court and crminal charges have been filled against the operator of the Diamon Casino and the Melia Hotel. The suit seek to demonstrat that the game is rigged (as all other casino games may be as thete is no supervision whatsoever).

So if you appreciate the hard work it took to earn your money don't give it away to this casino owners. STAY AWAY FROM SUPERKENO AND ANY OTHER CASINO GAME IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC...!!!

IF YOU WISH TO BE KEPT INFORMED OR HAVE BEEN RIP OFF SEND AN EMAIL TO davidmedina@yahoo.com, WE NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU!

Unfair

The problem with "progressive Roulette" and "Super Keno" have been discussed and most are aware. To state "Stay away from all Dominican Casino games" is unfair and misleading, the BJ, Craps etc are the same basic rules you find anywhere

If you don't know the rules and basic 'odds' of any game, don't play it! To say its designed to rip you off is an oxymoron, of course it is. Slot machines are pretty bad too, but not as bad as super-keno sounds. A sucker game it must be.

There's nothing "new" about super keno - I was told about it on my first visit back in 1999.

At the end of the day, if you can't afford to lose your stake you shouldn't be betting it. Anyone who is stupid enough to be duped in this manner deserves what they get IMHO.

You may find the rules everywhere, but the plain truth is that no one supervizes the Casino on Dominican republic and the operator can do anything. We have evidence that the Super Keno is rigged at the Diamante Casino. If that is so, who could guarantee that other games aren't rig as well? Are you willing to take a chance on it when not even the government there care?

To top it of, mr. Edmon Elias, who operates most if not all casinos there, has a federal warrant for his arrest in the US for drug money laudering. The Dominican Republic has refuse to turn him over as he is one of the most powerful man there.

I think common sense says that will all this evidence it would be good judgement to stay off the casinos while you are there and invest the money on something better. The truth is that if you have and want to gamble you be better off going to Las Vegas or Atlantic City.

So, friend, I think that my statements are not unfair or misleading" nbut right on the money.

Where did you encounter the game? what hotel and Casino?

If not a matter of just a casino games with bad odds. It is a scheme to defraud people of their money. And it is rigged (as it may be all games there, who know, nobody is making sure that they are not). I just though it was a matter of stupidity but after investigating the game and the gaming industry there and after talking to several victims I have concluded is not just a matter of bad odds os stupidity.

We requested the Casino management to probe that the game was fair and just and they refuse. We requested that they pull of the balls and show that they all were there and they refuse. We gave every opportunity for them to show that the game was fair and just. But they just refuse.

As a matter of fact, don't just take my word for it. We know that Master card knows the the fraud scheme as well as the US Embasy there but because no one has complain officially they cannot do anything.

Except you are probably a lousy player. I have played all over the Caribbean, including the DR and found the table games (With exception to anyone stupid enough to get taken in by the greed of a big win at phony games) to be above board and like games at casinos anywhere

Super Keno feeds on the greed of ignorant players and you were taken, concentrate on that issue "my firend" You got greedy and were duped, nothing more nothing less

Many people have complained "Oficially" since peopel began complaining over three years ago. the casinos lease space to these operators and dis avow any connection.

If it is "fraud" and MasterCard knows about it, why did they approve the transaction?? And why don't they simply du a chargeback if they are "Aware" of the fraud

I in no way condone the operation of these scams, but you are whining like a little kid the got his wrist slapped

For your info: the operate at Playa Dorada and Hamaca they I personally know of. Hamaca is a Hilton, try complaining to them

Definitely it is not a new game. In response to emails from people that suffered significant losses, we posted a page on gambling in the DR in our travel section that discusses how the odds will be particularly against you in this game. The page has been up for several years now. See http://dr1.com/travel/expect/casinos.shtml

Actually, I do not play. And I didn't loose any money, in that or any other game, because I am too smart for that. I work too hard for my money to give it away to lazy people that want to become rich from hard working people. I just hate to see people being foolish and I decided to warn people. That's is all.

It just goes beyong lousy odds. The game is a scam and probably rigged. In the legal case we are filing against the casino we showed that they refused to demonstrated that the game was fair and just. They were asked to show that the balls were there in the number and types they suppose to be and the refuse.

And if it just a case of bad odds, how then you explain that every one reaches 98 or 99 quickly (withing the first 20 or 25 balls) and then the last number never comes up? What are the odds that the first 99 come up right away but not the last one? Why would they left you come back the following day to play exactly where you left of? All the evidence adds up to scam?

So to just say that is just bad odds doesn't add up.

The US Embassy has told us that no one has complaint offically... meaninmg by writing.

Why Master Card cannot do anything? because there is nothing illegal with the transaction per se. They follow the book. The illegality is on the game itself.

Whinning???? Since when trying to help people avoid falling into a trap is whining? After all, I haven't lost a penny in that game and I don't gamble at all. I am not a moralist either, just hate seen people throw away their money, specially whne they are scammed when they trusted that they were having fin and had a real chance of winning (See my comment above this).

It doesn't surprise me that people think is whining. I though the same when it was brought into my attention, that the person was a bad looser and he was whining. But the truth is that the more I investigated the case, the more I realize that their "whining" was justifide because they were scammed and not the case of bad judgement of bad odds.

I wonder why it bother some people that someone is trying to warn other from danger?

ONCE AGAIN, FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T HEARD OF IT, BEWARE OF CASINOS IN DR AND IN PARTICULAR SUPER KENO

I never said the Super Keno wasn't rigged, it was your tangent about ALL Csino games that was Libel :)

Where does your standing apply in a lawsuit if you were not an injured party?

BTW, I think you had better do a bit of investigating, the Casinos lease space to the Super Keno operators and have hold harmless agreements

The guys that run the Super Keno are Americans from New Jersey, I would watch my step should you desire to continue walking :)

Progressive Roulette

This game is just as bad. I was with a friend who lost many, many k in this game. His point total climbed so quickly, and he thought he was finally going to win the big one. His eyes glazed over, you know what happened don't you? :-( As we have processed this event over the years, this question always remains unanswered. What if?? What if by some fluke he would have won? What are the chances he would have been paid? Our guess is that some mgmt loser would have appeared from out of nowhere and would have said that there had been an error. That the counter had made a mistake earlier in the game.

Since this game has been discussed b4, how is it that they still get by playing the game? Someone must have figured out by now what they do to get you to the high #'s so quickly, and then never to get a high count again. There have to be people smarter than me who can beat their system. After all ,look at the people who are able to fleece Vegas every now and then.

Gambling aside, I still think the DR is a fabulous vacation destination. The people are absolutely great.

Enjoy your Dominican experience :)

They simply play on the greed of those who think they can get something easily

You won't see any "experienced" gamblers playing these games, Caribbean Stud, Let it Ride, Slots or other house games

Well it?s too late, many have been had including a friend of a friend who came down here in March. He lost 20,000US within 1 hour of playing this stupid game. It?s true how you reach 90 + points in no time and then you think you?re obviously going to win. (by the way, you do get to see the number on the ball, I was there when he was playing) It happened exactly as you described it. Fortunately the guy had the money to lose and he fully understood the risks but man what I could have done with that 20 grand! I was in total shock everytime he told the guy ok, give me another ball! but hey, that?s gambling! If you don?t have the money to lose then don?t play!

An "experienced" gambler with $20,000 to spend wouldn't play a dumb-*** game like this nor did he apparently understand the risks. He'd play craps or BJ and at least know the odds and have 1/2 a chance. Or the story is a but exaggerated. Certainyl nothing to brag about.
