I dont understand the logic of having 2 or 3?
That must be quite the generator for 100k US dollars but I guess you would need quite the generator for a college.gringo in dr said:The generators were never designed to be used almost constantly. So many places have decided to cut back on usage. If they don't do this everyone will have to chip in for a new one when the old one self destructs. PUUMC generator resently died. That was a $100,000 USD unit.
The other option would be to get 2 or 3 gensets. That way you can rotate them 12 or 8 hour shifts.
Who cares what you hope?221 said:That must be quite the generator for 100k US dollars but I guess you would need quite the generator for a college.
Generators are made and designed to be worked real hard. Harder you work them the better off they are. Generators are mostly just deisel engines and a few hundred thousand miles on most heavy duty deisel engines in tractors that pull trailers are nothing. They go for a million miles plus.
i hope u know more about real estate than u know about this subject!!!!!
I have 2 40kw Wilson Generators. I have been advised to run them hard at a min of 50% and that these Perkin Diesels like to be working as much as possible.gringo in dr said:Escott I only know the price of the University's generator because it was in the newspaper. They were complaining that because of the power outages they had to replace it since it died.
I know diesel engines run for hundreds of thousands of miles, even into the millions of miles, but they are not run for 20 - 22 hours per day. Plus I'm sure the diesel fuel here is not the same quality as in the states.

Which used to provide service 24/7 but have stopped doing so because of budgetary and fuel supply concerns?
