yay. we are now up to 3 airlines going nonstop from South Florida-DR. The days of AA's monopoly are over and fares will only go down.

The E190 is a great aircraft. It only carries 100 passengers but despite this (or maybe because of this) it is surprisingly spacious inside and seating is comfortable. And Jetblue's service is the best you will see in an economy class cabin.

This certainly won't always be the cheapest route from Florida-DR (with Spirit's $9 fares and all), but it will certainly be the most comfortable route.

The best services in economy..what is different from another airlines serving SDQ.

SDQ-FLL-SDQ flights will be operated by the Airbus A320, not the E190 as stated above. As of right now ALL flights, (except for one JFK-SDQ-JFK to be operated by the E190), will be operated with the A320, includes flights from SDQ to: SJU, JFK, MCO, FLL flights for the Summer 2009 season...

SDQ-JFK: 5x - (4 A320, 1 E190)
SDQ-SJU: 2x - (Both A320)
SDQ-MCO: 1x - (A320)
SDQ-FLL: 1x - (A320)

Up to 18 flights in/out of SDQ daily. Yay!

Good news indeed. Yet another option. PBIA would've been better, but hanging out on Las Olas before a flight is not a bad thing either............

I thought that JET BLUE had been flying into SDQ for a full year..

They haven't had the Fort Lauderdale to Santo Domingo flight. They have been flying since March 2008 from Orlando to Santo Domingo.

Considering the other two choices out of Florida are Spirit And AA, Jet Blue really sticks out as the best service. They have the most legroom by far, all seats have an IFE system, you don't have to pay for snacks and drinks (except alcohol), they have a frequent flier program with which you can actually use the award tickets you get, and they don't gouge you with bag fees.

Are you sure this is accurate? I'm almost positive MCO-SDQ is E190 and that at least one of the SJU-SDQ flights is as well

According to FlightStats, tomorrow's Jet Blue Departures from SDQ are:
2:30am B6 1752 JFK A320
9:35am B6 1718 MCO E190
11:50am B6 784 JFK A320
3:55pm B6 1736 SJU E190
5:21pm B6 786 JFK A320
7:55pm B6 782 JFK E190

I have only taken the E190 out of MCO but you never know if they are expanding and using the A320 in the future.

Yes, like I said FLL-SDQ-FLL will be A320 service as the press release states below:
(Last Summer 2008, the MCO-SDQ-MCO route operated with the A320 and loads were always full round trip).

Press Release from yesterday:
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Feb. 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- JetBlue Airways (Nasdaq: JBLU - News) will add two new international routes from its Fort Lauderdale focus city this June to Cancun, Mexico, and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, subject to receipt of government operating authority. The customer-friendly airline will offer daily nonstop service to both cities beginning June 18, with low fares starting at just $71(a) each way to Cancun and $99(b) each way to Santo Domingo. Every JetBlue fare comes packed with friendly customer service, unlimited free snacks and drinks, seatback entertainment options, and the most legroom in coach of any U.S. airline(c).

Cancun and Santo Domingo are the latest additions to JetBlue's growing operation in Fort Lauderdale, where the airline offers nonstop flights to 18 destinations. Last week JetBlue began its first-ever international service from Fort Lauderdale with two daily flights to Nassau, Bahamas.

JetBlue will operate its Santo Domingo service with 150-seat Airbus A320 aircraft and its Cancun route with the spacious 100-seat EMBRAER 190 jet, both of which feature industry-leading legroom, roomy leather seats, personal seatback entertainment, and unlimited free snacks and drinks.

I know they have better legroom..same as Delta you dont paid for snacks and drinks and most of the B737-800 has a panasonic IFE system and has the best intenational network out the biggest Hub in the World ATL.
On most major airlines you dont paid bag fees for international travel.
And thank you for the respond and the Info about B6.

I agree Delta is good, but I am comparing the three airlines that offer NONSTOP service from Florida-DR
