Ángel Martínez arrested in Puerto Plata for defamation.
Ángel Ramón de Jesús Martínez Jiménez, the self-proclaimed “detective,” was arrested on Monday aboard a cruise ship docked in Puerto Plata. The arrest stems from a defamation lawsuit filed by Guido Gómez Mazara, president of the Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (Indotel), after Martínez accused him of delivering drug money to then-presidential candidate Luis Abinader—allegations he shared on social media and digital platforms.

Martínez had repeatedly ignored court summons
from the Ninth Criminal Court of the National District, leading to his being declared in contempt. Authorities confirmed his status while investigating his unauthorized activities and recordings in restricted areas.

In response, the court issued an arrest warrant, imposed a travel ban, and ordered the publication of his personal details in the media to facilitate his capture. Martínez is expected to be presented to the Public Prosecutor’s Office shortly, allowing suspended criminal proceedings against him to move forward.

Here's a video this idiot posted online yesterday taunting the authorities. Let this be a cautionary tale for all of you "YouTubers" and "influencers" who like to create content down here while sticking your noses into other people's affairs. Enjoy!

Este charlatán quería brillar... y lo brillaron.

The saddest part about this dude is that he's convinced many Dominicans that he's attached to the FBI, the CIA, and DEA and, and... was once rescued from kidnappers by none other than members of the elite Delta Force.

A man for all seasons and about the world, the self-proclaimed Dominican 007 has also endeared himself to the diaspora, most of whom believe anything and everything he regurgitates.

Such a brave man... a keyboard and YouTube warrior making accusations from the friendly confines of his unknown address in the good, ol' US of A.

Most Dominican men are know-it-alls and 'matatanes' extraordinaire, but somehow they've suspended logic and common sense when it comes to believing the pronouncement this nincompoop makes.

Oh, yeah: One of his lawyers has just told the nation that the Dominican 007 has been in contact with the State Department.

And for anyone clever enough to believe that: I have a bridge in Brooklyn for sale, and/or ocean-front property in Arizona for pennies on the dollar.

Loco viejo, pariguayo, estafador... that's who he is.

José Peguero made a report concerning the arrest of Martínez in Puerto Plata. According to Peguero, the guy made a video while he was in the cruiseship off the coast of Puerto Plata asking Dominican authorities to arrest him. Obviously, he made an error of judgment thinking Dominican authorities only have jurisdiction in Dominican land territory, but in reality it also extends to Dominican territorial waters. Hence, the authorities did just that, they went to the cruiseship and arrested him. Ouch!

PS. I already knew for quite a few years that the Dominican woman shown there is an alumnus of Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. Apparently, Martínez also had an issue with her.

So-called communicators rarely get it all right: most are saying he was arrested in "altamar".
I guess the like the sound of the word.

Altamar means high seas.

Dude was arrested in Dominican waters.

Any person can be a communicator these days. Just give 'em a camera and a mic. BRUTOS todos.

A court issued warrant for his arrest went out back in 2021. He's had more than enough time to get this resolved. These Dominican wannabe self-proclaimed "journalist" are annoying. Good riddance.

Faride Raful sues Ángel Martínez and Ingrid Jorge

Faride.webp

Santo Domingo.- Minister of the Interior and Police, Faride Raful, has filed criminal and civil lawsuits against YouTuber Ángel Ramón de Jesús Martínez Jiménez, known as “Detective Ángel,” and journalist Ingrid Altagracia Jorge Pérez for alleged defamation, slander, and threats via digital platforms. The complaints, submitted to the Special Prosecutor’s Office for High-Tech Crimes and Offenses, accuse both individuals of spreading false claims linking Raful to drug trafficking and threatening to release alleged intimate videos without evidence.

In the case of “Detective Ángel,” the lawsuit cites multiple defamatory remarks made on YouTube and social media, including accusations of blackmail and explicit threats to publish compromising material. For these claims, Raful is demanding RD$50 million in damages, citing reputational harm and violation of her privacy. Similarly, journalist Ingrid Jorge Pérez is accused of conducting a smear campaign, claiming Raful facilitated drug transportation and possessed a sex video involving another public figure. The minister alleges the statements were made with the intent to extort and discredit her as a public official.

Both cases invoke Articles 21 and 22 of Law 53-07 on High-Tech Crimes and Article 367 of the Dominican Penal Code, which provide for prison terms and monetary fines. Despite public reactions, Raful has rejected apologies and emphasized the importance of accountability for misuse of digital platforms.

I hope Faride doesn't settle for an apology from the LOCO VIEJO and la becerra.

Considering that la becerra is a mother of two, I wouldn't wish her any jail time. She should have to fork up some cash.

But el LOCO VIEJO deserves some time in Najayo-Hombre or La Victoria, as well as having his US residency status revoked.
And NO Schengen visa tampoco.

I still can't understand why so many Dominicans believe all the BS ese LOCO VIEJO posts.

I wonder if he's some kind of diety: He's older, pale-faced, and sports a white beard, after all.

I posted this thread inorder to highlight the fact this country has enough problems without some wannabe journalist/ YouTube whackjob stirring the pot while defaming and slandering the same people who are working tirelessly to turn this country around and steer it in the right direction.

He’s not gonna be posting videos for a while.

Former president, Hipólito Mejía, has said he’ll take legal actions against el LOCO VIEJO, too.

Did you see the video of him receiving his recommendation for being a combination FBI, CIA, and Secret Service agent?

Totally cracked me up. I'll see if I can find it again.

Yeah, it was a group of chaplains, but Dominicans are convinced that those in attendance were uniformed Federal agents, lending credence to the fact that Dominicans would believe anything.

Remember the super-duper investor known as "Mantequilla"?
He claimed to have created a "scientific formula" that could double your investment monthly.
Well, as soon as folks heard the phrase 'scientific formula,' they rushed in and delivered their cash to the genius from Sabana Grande de Boyá.
Some started referring to the city as "Sabana Grande de Dubai", its streets soon to be paved with pure gold, clear as glass.

<<¿Tú oíste esa vaina? Una fórmula científica. Ese tíguere e' un caballo... un matatán>>.

And the same with this "detective": <<¡Diablo, Dios mío! Ese detective dice que ha trabajado pa'l FBI, la CIA y la DEA. Ese tíguere e' un duro>>.

If it wasn't for the fact that mirrors are ubiquitous, anyone could come to the D.R. and profit handsomely from our ignorance.

Large corporations have been doing it for years.
This country isn't poor, it's just been extremely mismanaged.

I'm glad this one was arrested and is being sued on top of it. Hopefully they'll make an example out of him.
