The Venezuelan pseudo-surgeon Karla María Moya Boada was arrested at Punta Cana International Airport when she attempted to leave the country. She is banned from leaving the country because she has a legal case against her after investigative reporter Nuria Piera revealed she was offering plastic surgery services without being a medical doctor. She is a graduate in law from a Venezuelan university.

After the investigative report aired, the Ministry of Public Health ordered the closure of Moya Boada’s Ki Centro Médico Integral del Caribe offices.

What an idiot. 600$ is the going rate for a "private jola" from pedernales to Port au Prince".
A Colombiano that I knew long time ago left the country through the Haitian border. He had impedimento de salida due child support past due payments.

I know a few people that did the same. The number of people that can't leave the country because of child support is amazing.

Well am happy justice will be serve and the fake doctor will have to answer for illegally practice medicine … BRAVO

HOWEVER ,,,, I must say that she being STOP at the airport and NOT being allowed to leave the country by airport authorities was ilegal …. Allow me to explain before y’all jump to crucified me … she had a ALERTA MIGRATORIA which is NOT the same as a IMPEDIMENTO DE SALIDA ; alerta migratoria it’s a request by “police” to let them know her in and outs of the country , and IMPEDIMENTO DE SALIDA is the only I repeat THE ONLY legal document/order that can prohibit a citizen or foreigner to freely leave the country…. NO impedimento de salida means a citizen or foreign national may leave the country EVEN if they have a legal / investigation proceedings pending with the DR justice system …

Even when one leaves the country with outstanding warrants for fraud! Some can't risk re-entry.

I do NOT understand your point

She was doing fraud YES , she needs to be punish YEs , However the legal system drop the bowl by NOT issuing impedimento de salida sign by a judge and only issuing alerta migratoria which is NOT enough to stop her from leaving the country freely ; yes she was stop from getting on that plane and leaving yes ; but it was ILEGAL for airport authorities to do that …. BUT in DR all is possible even airport authorities BREAKING the law & legal protocol

So to summarize all this : NO “impedimento salida” means you may leave the country freely …. EVEN EVEN if you have open legal proceedings in the DR justice system

Why do people feel compelled to allow Nuria in?
They're not obligated to let her in. Alofoke refused and nothing happened.

If she wanted to talk to me, I would most definitely refuse: "Nuria, go get some real journalism training, preferably outside the D.R... AND then we'll talk."

He is one of the worst spellers I have ever read. I doubt english is his first language. If it is is, I can see why they held him back from moving on to second grade.
