The newly appointed Francisco Alejandro Campos Álvarez is a former army man with experience in port administration. He was appointed executive director of the Dominican Port Authority (Apordom) by President Luis Abinader through Decree 554-26 on 16 August 2026. He succeeds Jean Luis Rodríguez, who was named Minister of Housing, Habitat, and Buildings.
Campos Alvarez has a bachelor’s degree in Marketing with a concentration in General Administration from Universidad Iberoamericana (Unibe). He also has advanced studies in finance, business management, project development, risk management, insurance, and technological innovation.
Prior to his appointment he had served as president of Apordom’s board of directors from August 2020 to August 2026.
