American Airlines has a 3 day advance fair to POP out of Charlotte. I live in Atlanta which is a 3 hour drive. It is worth the drive. I check most of my flights starting with bestfares.com newsdesk. If I see something I like, I go to Travelocity then Orbitz and so on.

I am coming from Minnesota and have a consistant problem with all these special offers. You have to be at the starting airport at the crack of dawn. Otherwise you end up staying over night in an airport to finally get to POP the next day. Since I can't start in Minnesota and get there by the crack of dawn, I am hosed.

I don't think there is any such fare from Charlotte NC. Please provide details

I looked on the AA website. There are no specials or fare sales to DR listed. If I input the dates stated I get a US$338 flight. Still pretty good. But I still can't connect from Minnesota in time to catch it.

Fares like that come and go fast. I just checked and they are gone. I search for fares everyday. Whenever I come across something special I will post it ASAP.

FYI. Also check www.bestfares.com/newsdesk. They post many special fares throughout the day.

Minneapolis to POP

US$589 for Minneapolis to POP may not sound to good compared to some of the portal quotes given here, but from Minneapolis it is great. It is on Ryan International Airlines, a charter provider through worry-free-vactions. The usual hangups of limited availability, Friday morning departure, and mandatory Friday afternoon return. But, the flight is direct to POP and takes about 7 hours instead of 18.
