Soon enough the word on the Haitian street is that the DR isn’t offering much medical care for free to Haitians unlike before (before Leonel gave the order for Haitians to be attended in Dominican hospitals even if they crossed the border just for that, no such thing as free DR medical care for Haitians existed.) Once that sinks in, stories such as that one will become rare not because there is a change from the Dominican part, rather pregnant Haitian women will not bothered crossing the border exclusively to give birth.

The biggest problem was that so many Haitians were going to public hospitals that at times Dominicans would go and the hospital was out of several medicines that would be there if it wasn’t for the Haitians. Same with available bed. That is simply messed up since Dominican tax payers is from where most of the funding for these hospitals comes from.

No thanks, but do you think it is right for any woman who is in labour to be kicked out into the street or onto a deportation truck. It's inhumane.
Do you know there are women deep in the mountains of the Dominican Republic still giving birth at home because there aren't even basic medical resources available? But sure, let’s go ahead and pretend the Dominican Republic has the means to take responsibility for another entire country. Makes total sense.

My son's brother's wife just had a C section birth at a local BC hospital. She stayed in the hospital for at least one night if not 2 (not sure). She was deported along with the baby.

Anyone is welcome to guess where she and the baby are now.

You learn a lot about people that make comments with a total lack of compassion and decency in things like this……….

There a million of DR Citizens that are depend on the Health Care provided by the State. Believe me the are f.... enough already.
EVERY SINGLE HAITIAN MOTHER that goes to a DR Hospital makes this Situation worse. Have compassion and decency were it's belong.
Put on a helmet because here comes the truth; your son's brother's wife is a PARASITE , using a service she never paid for. Why didn't she go to a private Hospital and paid for her Procedure !? The don't look for illegals in Private Hospitals. Also why didn't you or anybody else of your Family paid for it !? I hope she has a nice Trip.
