Don't say that's impossible because 4 balloons were shot down in the U.S. and the gubmint refuses to say what they were. Now that brings to mind what if we had them over SD? It's a major port and stratigally located in the Caribbean. Does the DR patrol the skys? Who? And if they located a balloon similar to the ones shot down last week in the US would they shoot it down? Or, would they say "mañana?. Perhaps say---Oh that's just a party balloon that got away from the beach? IDK other than break out the pop corn.

The government is indicating they were not spy balloons, but were weather related research balloons......and apparently there are lots of them deployed all over the world.

One balloon shot down with a $400,000 missle was a $12 pico hobby group's balloon with a shortwave tracker - thank God the skies are safe.

If a balloon floats over DR it's likely carrying drugs. Come to think of it what a great way to bring in a load - if it's steerable.

How many days will it take for a Tucano to reach 60,000 feet?
How many days till never..........

They are not capable of climbing (Tucano/Super Tucano) beyond 25,000-30,000 foot altitudes.........and the weapons on board would hardly make up the distance.

A few years ago there was a UFO over Santo Domingo and many people in the city saw it. Nothing happened from the part of the government.

It would be interesting to see if UFO sightings have decrease in the DR now that Puerto Rico's Arecibo satellite is destroyed.

There are so many of those large foil birthday balloons filled with helium sold here - Many of those escape as did my step daughter on her 14th birthday two years ago. Watched it float away directly over the airport on its was to Puerto Plata
