Absolut or Stoli?

I hate to say it but I may be starting to like Absolut more than Stoli. I've always been a staunch Stoli supporter, but after this liter I may switch. Any thoughts?

(I've even had the blasphemous thought of trying Grey Goose, but that is out of the question.)

Luksusowa, that's the Polish vodka? Made from actual potatos? I tried it and didn't do back flips. It's worth another shot, I guess.

I've always done Absolut for flavored vodka. I like Absolut Vanilla w/OJ. It tastes like an orange creamsicle. But I've never bought a bottle of Absolut regular because I've loved Stoli for many years as my vodka of choice. Stoli/cranberry. Stoli/ginger. Stoli neat. I dunno.

How much is vodka in DR anyway? I move down next week.

I'll take it. It ain't the cheapest around but it'll do. Certainly better than the states. And good enough to keep me from having to check bags to bring it in from SXM. Sweet. Cheap good vodka.

And now for the moment of truth: how much is American whisky? JD, Beam, and co? I'm a redneck at heart and must keep a hearty supply of the good stuff for boilermakers at all times.

Polish Vodka is not for the weak ... lol
My sisters wedding in Poland was 3 days and 2500 litres of vodka later ... lol

P.S - Mixing vodka with juice/pop is just wrong ... all wrong ... Just straight !

I'm no purist. Vodka is great mixed if you ask me. I've been drinking vodka/Red Bull all evening. Love it. You don't like martinis either? You're hardcore. I like that.

I guess I'll have to buy them all. I don't mind having a full bar. My Anacaona crib has a bar. Can't wait to get the cocktail parties going...

all lists of best vodka in the world have: belvedere, chopin and wyborowa - 3 best polish vodkas.
also try (i believe they have it in USA, certainly in UK) zubrowka - vodka with a single piece of grass favoured by polish bizons...

I opened this thread because I am drinking Skyy right now, I buy it because the price is decent and the bottle is pretty.

(plus they tell me potatoes are good for you or something...)

Since vodka has no taste anyway I didn't think there was any reason to pay alot.

I used to drink Stoli back in the day when alcohol was relatively cheap in the DR, never realized there was a reason to be choosy.

Is Absolut really that much better? How? I mostly make vodka martinis with it, since I realized I am the only one who understands my ramblings when I drink it straight from the bottle stored in the freezer. (and I feel selfish when everyone is nodding and smiling politely at me)

Am I missing much? Is it worth the extra money? (Is the drunken pious wisdom that much more pious and wise?)

one thing that is worth money is the smallest hangover possible - the purer the vodka the better.

know that I am a regular ABSOLUTE drinker......No comparison between the smoothness and that extra little kick with Absolute that you don?t get with Stoli....and I drank Stoli for years! Been drinking Absolute now for probably 20!

Anyone for another round?
