The place is full of the absolute worst type of people this country has to offer after 6pm daily. Hopefully they continue cleaning it up so it will be a more attractive place to visit and spend money.
I don't care if it is a restaurant or bar or women's clothes shop, just as long as it is not another cheap Chinese junk variety store.
I seldom visit that part of town, although I frequently drive by, as it has become the fat-women-in-spandex waddling parade starting at 6 PM nightly.
The German bar on just the other side of the Chinese tienda seems to doing well and full of gringo gawkers drinking in excess, mostly German and Canadian.
So something similar to that with a place up front near the sidewalk for old men to ogle at over-the-hill hookers in cheap wigs and perhaps feel a 'twitch' should be successful, and after all it does serve a purpose.
About the only thing that lasts a shorter time than a roll with a spandex queen is anything bought in those Chinese shops.

I left there around 6 pm yesterday. I hope it was in time to beat the 6pm "worst type" stereotype! By the way, there are many expats and tourists, men and women, in the bars and restaurants considerably later than that.
maybe its going to be an uber chic French tasting room, catering to the discerning palates of all the visitors visiting Pedro C
I never said there weren't.
Sosua is a beautiful place to chill out and take a break from the city however both myself and Mr. Collado would prefer the gorillas in spandex, the chulo scum who accompany them, along with the Muppets who fly down every other weekend to feed them....
quiety take it somewhere else and I hope it happens sooner rather than later.
Heck I'd even be willing to spend more of my time and money up there if they would just keep them off the beach and only allow them to graze after 6pm.
Hows that for compromise?
I ate in a place where they have Dominican food, it's type DR fast food eater where you can buy your meal to take with you or just stay over there, the music was loud and noticed some folks and tourist having lunch or just drinking a cold Presidente.
The place is located on Calle Pedro Grisante jus acroos the street from Hotel Europa, the name is "la Nortena" food was good.

Agreed on all observations you made about La Norteno, Good chicken and the ribs are not bad.

I don't think there is any doubt it is in the process. Willy is not rushing, but the President is pushing and he has more than 3 years to go on his term.
Stop Jet Blue flights and the place would be quiet but many businesses would suffer, but then it would take years to rebuild non-John tourism.
I can't see Willie cutting off this flow of income.
How would you stop Jet Blue? Can't the johns just take another airline?
