Not sure of the spelling but has any one been on the trip to Altos De Chavron that's offered as a side tour from Punta Cana. We usually take one side trip per visit ... last year was Santa Domingo, and it was OK but a very long day! Is Altos worth the time and money. Any info would be great! Thanks

Altos de Chavon is interesting to see, especially it's design as a recreated 16th century Mediterranean village. Several restaurants, most not open til evening. A few shops, nothing spectacular. If your scheduling permits would suggest waiting til after April 1 when the nearby new Casa de Campo Marina is scheduled to be operational. Additional restaurants plus a plethora of shops. Could do both in one day.

It is more than worth a visit. It is part of Parson's school of Design. Many of the gifts you can buy are made by the resident artists. It is great.

Definately worth it! The architecture is fantastic and it has a fantastic vista at the rear of the site which provides a great view of the river.
