I can remember

I can remember the Challenger exploding, I was at work that day and just became numb, much the same way I felt Saturday and on Sept 11 - I can not begin to imagine what the families of those people are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with them all.

I remember being in 3rd grade when the Challenger exploded and my teacher crying because the first teacher in space(woman I believe called Christy McCallister?) and all of us young ones not realizing what was happening until watching the footage and the upsetting sight of our teacher crying. I found out today at work about the Columbia and sending a prayer to all those families who have lost a loved one in that tragic crash.

Dale7,

Now I feel old. I was a junior in High School when Challenger
exploded. Christa McAuliffe was the teacher who died.
Obviously my condolences go out to the astronauts and
their families, and those at NASA who are now suffering.

If any good can come of this.........It should be to put
the space program on the forefront of American endeavor.
Make it to Mars by 2025, and establish a colony on the moon.
Just like JFK challenged us to go the moon, GWB should
challenge us to go beyond our current limits.

On a lighter note (and a Dominican tie-in) maybe
Hippolito Mejia can be the first Dominican in space,
and take some of his cronies with him?

God Bless Everyone,

(it is Sunday)

You feel old---I was in a college English class when we heard of the Challenger disaster. And that was just to add to my present Bachelor's degree at 30-years-of-age! Now that's old :)!

A Thought

This from our local newspaper.

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,

and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings

and while with silent lifting mind

I've trod the high, untresspassed sanctity of space,

put out my hand and touched the face of God.

John Gillespie Magee.

Respectfully submitted. Stan.
