In the next to final episode, he FINALLY visits DR..I missed it. It's fitting that they saved my favorite vacation spot in the world for last! Has anyone seen it yet? Thoughts?

If you like the DR and are a fan of Bourdain it's a can't miss. I thought they did a fine job all in all.
Barra Payan, now that is a late night sandwich!

The show was ok, but a lot was missed. Way too much of the show was devoted to Samana!
Since he had chivo, it should have been somewhere in la linea. No mention of Santiago, or any portion of the Cibao region for that matter. He should have gone to a mountain town like Constanza or Ocoa.
Higuey and the religious culture should have been included.
And the biggest omission...how can you possibly do a show about DR and not mention baseball? He should have gone to San Pedro de Macoris and stopped at Restaurant Amable for pasteles en hoja, which would have satisfied the baseball and food angle.
I know that it's a one hour show, so it's hard to get everything in, but they could have switched some segments/locations around and made the show better. My 2 pesos!
He missed a lot of stuff, but the show was good, I'm pretty sure they left a lot of stuff out on the editing room...
I have probably seen 80% of the episodes of No Reservations during the past 8 years. Like I wrote before, the show was ok.
They hit some must places if you want to experience the food and drink of DR. Samana and the coconut laced cuisine, chicharron in Villa Mella, puerco en puya at Lechonera el Monumento, and Barra Payan.
Where they missed, was in showing more of the country. They could have done the same segments at different, more traditional locations. The chivo should have been somewhere in la linea, as opposed to Samana. The sancocho should have been cooked with le?a at some family gathering in some campo near Santiago. And again, he should have gone to San Pedro and featured baseball and the typical, local cuisine; which is unique to that area. Nothing is more Dominican than baseball, and although the show is about food and drink, it is also about the local culture, as was shown in the Cuba episode, where they did dedicate a good portion of the show to the importance of baseball in the country.
