I would love to take my little princess see the snow for the first time during Christmas 2006. So far the best rates found are $55,605 pesos more or less US1700 roundtrip. I was also told that most flights are already booked! Ehh!Anyone knows of a better deal? I would like to travel for 2 weeks, between the following dates starting December 15 to 29, 30, 31 or January 1, 2007. I'm pretty flexible with the dates and can fly from STO, STI or POP to YQB, Quebec. Gracias :ermm:

This far in advance is too far to look for a deal, although you are traveling over the holidays. How old is your daughter?

Keep your eyes open on the airline websites for deals. You can then approach an agent once you have an idea of fares and see if they can match them or get close.

My daughter is 6. But what if I wait later and than can't find any tickets...that makes me very nervous!

Finding tickets from here to there shouldn't be a problem as there are so many Dominicans coming home for the holidays flights go back empty (or at least partially empty.)
I think if you keep an eye out closer to the time you'll find much better prices.
Make sure you check several different web sites as they can vary greatly in prices.

Also contacting some of the travel reps in the area could give you an idea if they can sell you a ticket on their flights and buy a ticket on a charter on the other end.

Does your daughter have a canadian passport?

I see what you mean about flights I just checked in our system for you and they are all high - if you take schedule air - it seems astronomical. - keep in mind how much of those tickets are taxes.

For us Canadians living in the DR, can we have any problem if we buy a round-trip ticket only? Last time I went up a few years ago they had to double check if I could really leave the country without a return ticket and I almost missed the flight...

I agree, it shouldn't hurt to wait.

"Does your daughter have a canadian passport?"
Yes, since she was 6 months old!

"For us Canadians living in the DR, can we have any problem if we buy a round-trip ticket only?"
I never had a problem buying round trip tickets from here or on the web.

"I agree, it shouldn't hurt to wait."
But how can I be sure that I will find something later if I am told that they are full now? If a travel agent would confirm that they always have flights later on, than I would take the chance of waiting to buy! I have till tomorrow to confirm my reservation on these tickets.

"I think you should try to fly to YUL (Montr?al)"
I have looked at this option and the prices were about the same. Because I'm traveling with a childI prefer to avoid more travel (bus ride) in Canada.
Thank you so much for your help!

I also agree with waiting a month or two before purchasing your ticket.

But if you really want to have your ticket, you can price from POP or STI to EWR or JFK, then to YQB (two seperate tickets, don't price out STI-YQB only) and will come out cheaper than $1,700 per person. Both tickets using the same airline.

Try that option !

likely in a month or two you will see on www.exitnow.ca rates for vacation packages and/or flight only to el catey airport. i'm expecting that the airlines going there - most of the major airlines i'm told - will offer special rates to promote the new destination. airport is to have it's first flight nov 6th so let's cross our fingers that good xmas rates can be had.

maybe some airline folks can check out if their airline has plans already to fly to el catey. i assume not much can be planned without FAA green light.
