I've been following this Message Board for months now and every time the subject is about getting your DR friend into Canada for a visit, all opinions are very negative! Is there anyone or any chance that somebody may have a HAPPY ENDING and do get their friend here??

Not much chance for a visit. Sponsoring a spouse is an entirely different story, but it takes time (ask Jodi) and money. Immigration told me the friend I wanted to sponser would vanish with 24 hours of arriving here. I married him and he vanished 3 months after arrival. There are happier stories though.

Good Morning Everyone,

Immigration told me, "Dont blame us when he leaves you, when you get to the USA." Oh well, 13 years and 5 children later, we are still together and happy. I guess immigration doesnt know everything, BIG SURPRISE..................

P.S. Get a little note, I knew my husband for 3 years while living in the DR, before we decided to get married and move to the USA. Just be careful and use your common sense.

Have a nice day and God bless!!

There is in Europe a divorce every two marriages .I don't see obvious reason why this wouldn't apply to the rest of the world. I have a Dominican partner for years , happily married with kids. This is my second wife... Pascal
