Does anyone have experience buying chinese goods from alibaba and freight shipping to a port?

Generally speaking, would freight + tax be cheaper than buying them and sending them via courier (ie. pick n send, EPS, etc)?

Thanks.

I have no idea why anyone would by from Alibaba, having Amazon.
We order several containers of goods via Alibaba every year. Try this with Amazon. I think you mistaken Aliexpress and Alibaba , and even there are sometimes HUGEEEE Price diferences at favor for Aliexpress vs Amazon.

I don't think anyone would argue that Amazon is for onesies and twosies and Alibaba is for bulk purchases of Chinese crap.

If you order from Alibaba, the first thing is you better use Paypal. Use a credit card and soon after you will get wierd charges.
Second it takes for friggin' ever to get anything from them and the quality is typical Chinese garbage

So when you make a purchase, where is the shipment shipped to?

For example, let’s say I buy 300 pounds of Chinese crap. That’s Less Than Truckload (LTL) via boat.

When the chinese rep asks ne where this freight will be shipped to, what do I tell him?

Why ask someone that doesn't have a clue?
First and most important is to find a customs broker in Santo Domingo.... The Chinese like to ship to Haina but will ship to the other port in SD.... They don't ship north to POP or any other port.... The customs broker is the most important as you can't go to the docks and retreive your own package.....
I shipped a 130 lb package to the US and used EncargoPak Marine to get it to the North Coast of the DR.... they have their own broker to pass through customs and with shipping and Aduanas it was around 300US.....
I didn't want to go through the BS of finding a broker and having to travel to SD to pick up the package.....

You don't order 300 lbs of anything from China and no Chinese rep will contact you.

Do you actually know what you are talking about? ..... What experience have YOU had with ordering from Alibaba? I had asked previously but it seems you won't answer and its obvious you don't have any experience ordering from this platform.....
Wow is it that you feel the more you post the more you know?

I ordered once using Alibaba to purchase a special CCTV camera and was very happy with the vendor and the great "Invoice" price.
That was 8½ years ago and the camera is still working great.

Amazon, EBay, Alibaba and others can all be a gamble.

I ordered twice from Alibaba ,some electronics components that I could not find on AliExpress or Amazon.
They were shipped to Miami and then through EPS ,I got them in Cabarete.
The transaction was easy and smooth. As Aliexpress, they have an elaborate notification system giving confidence on the purchase.

However , I priced the shipping cost of larger items such as 4 PVC lounge chairs .Full Price including shipping double the initial price so I did not move forward.

Interesting you say this to the OP but now they talked to you for a 3lb 12v compressor????
You really seem very difficult to believe... do you actually smell the stuff you're shovelling?

I couldn't care what you believe hammer head. I ordered it, it never came and I could not get a refund through PayPal because I had to elevate the issue with the seller' and I gave up. For the ~$30 I wasn't going to keep pursuing it. I'm taking a trip to the states in two weeks and will pick up a Milwaukee M18 tire pump.

In fact I'm going through the same issue with a software supplier (G2A) from England now who delivered a digital link to nothing after I paid. PayPal won't issue a refund until you produce communication with the seller, which doesn't come. You can elevate it but that doesn't seem to help.

But you keep ordering with Alibaba and if you're happy then bueno.

All others - Caveat Emptor.
