I think Robert was being self-congratulatory with regards to the website for Guavaberry, not the actual course, which is a Gary Player design.

I just found this article in Listin Diario which gives a history of the Arab inmigrants to DR and of prominent Dominicans born into this ethnic group. It begins by reporting on the recent move of their main club to Ave. 30 de Mayo. Since I remembered this thread existed, I am posting here.

There are plenty of middleastern in the dominican Republic especially in the capital. I am wondering did Rio Ozama have anything to do with this? where did the name come from ?
