Any of our North Coast hear about this incident?

Sosúa, DR.- In the Lomas Mironas sector of Sosúa, Puerto Plata, there is a tense situation, as a group of armed criminals remains barricaded inside a residence belonging to foreigners.

Police authorities and other security agencies have surrounded the area, trying to handle the case cautiously to avoid a tragedy.

So far, no details have been released about the identity of the suspects or the people inside the house. The ongoing operation keeps the area’s residents on tenterhooks, who report the massive presence of agents and official vehicles.

The authorities are expected to offer more information on the outcome of this delicate incident in the coming hours.

Privilege of living in the DR comes with risks.
I hope it turns out well with no injuries for the foreigners or neighbours.

Ah, but is it Fake News? Fabio says that it is false, but instead is a landlord/tenant relationship gone bad:

Detras del Rumor

ATTENTION SOSUA, THE COUNTRY AND THE WORLD - IT IS FALSE THAT IN LOMAS MIRONAS, DENCUENTS ARE ANCHORED
👇

Behind the rumor has answered sources of full credit indicating that in Lomas Mironas, it was not about criminals trapped in the house of foreigners, but allegedly a tenant had the rent arrears and several people presented to collect, part was given to the police, there was a presence of members and it is said that it would have been a member of the PN who recorded a video and supplied it to media with information that is not true.

The story in the OP is simply fake news. No basis in fact.

That info that made headlines about Thanksgiving being made an official holiday a few months ago was bullshit too.

where are all the people that say Dominican Republic is safe also as I've been saying put the bulldozers to sosua
The area in question is nowhere near the main part of Sosua that for some reason you want bulldozed, despite the many ordinary Dominicans who live and work there.

? You mean one end of one street in Sosua? Sosua is rather large.
If I may kindly add, this one end of one street in Sosua also does not equal the country called the Dominican Republic... You can most definitely find even violent disputes in the country and you can find dangerous spots, but it's usually not recommended to go out there trying to find those...

WHAT???? That sterling news source? Oh, the humanity! :ROFLMAO:
As you often posted, “look at things in the DR with a gimlet eye”. My version of that is things in the DR are never as they seem. One might go so far as to say false information created by artificial intelligence is not a threat in the DR. Dominicans are far more creative without it. Happy New Year Meems.
