Hector Gomez had this on his twitter. Looks like the Cardinals were not the only team to have this happen.

BREAKING NEWS: Armed men broke into the St Louis Cardinals Academy, in DR, taking the players out of their rooms and holding coaches hostage at gun point. They robbed money and jewlerly from various players. In the past few weeks the Cleveland Guardians’ and Miami Marlins’ have been also robbed by armed men. The usual practice of this robberies in the past have been taking only baseball equipment, but now academies have been dealing with armed man taking cash, valuables from safe boxes and holding coaches and players at gun point.

I’m not sure any security is prepared for an armed attack
It's not really a Swat team that attacked them but a Bunch ol Low Life's. Even when it is about armed Robery, it's all about "Competition". They are plenty of targets and they choose the easiest one with the less resistance to expect. And with a 102 year old drunk "watchi" you get exactly what you pay for. At incidents like this, always the security gets arrested first because there is a 90% + change that they were involved.

Maybe the robbers are made because the Cardinals have been stinking up the field and did not make the playoffs.
