This hotel and story is trending on google, this was a really horrific attack. Google the hotel for reviews and this story comes up. They better change their name because no one will go there after reading this.

This story was covered tonight on NBC television news in the United States. Many probably know that NBC is one of the three major television news outlets in the U.S. The woman spoke. And, NBC said that Majestic will issue a statement in the next few hours.

What kind of a monster attacks a women like this. She literally left her room to go a vending machine and got almost killed and that is her Husband's fault? Holy Crap.

nobody here has any kind of proof as to what exactly happened that night. that being the case, speculation will be rampant.

there is one reality which cannot be debated...if she goes on tv and says she was assaulted by some maniac in a third world country, she will be believed right away, in most circles. very few people will lean towards the idea that there was a situation between her and her spouse, which got out of hand.

There could be reasons she did not go public at first, legal, etc... Who knows.. But clearly there was an assault. For those who think these types of things do not happen at AI's your wrong. They do, happened to a dear friend of ours not too long ago. Many victims choose not to speak about it while it may take others time before they are ready to talk about it. I have stayed at resorts in Punta Cana and have gone for a late night snack while my spouse stayed in the room. Why should that make a difference. Doesn't make him less of a man to let me go alone. Until it happens to you or a loved one how do you know how someone will react.

Regardless of the varying degrees of sentiments regarding this topic, it will be very interesting to see the statement the resort issues tomorrow, as well as the reaction from the victim's side.

I do agree with your statement "what kind of husband.....lets wife walk around alone... But if this is a madeup story I certainly need to rethink all I have ever believed in the human soul. There have been incidents I now recall that have been perpetrated by souless individuals (now I remember Tawana Brawley in NY) but I still always choose to believe the victim first.

"The 597 rooms in the resort are divided into 2 main areas: the Majestic Elegance and the Elegance Club."

597 rooms x however many persons may be scheduled into a room together,
….but not one witness to the initial accosting or subsequent attack that lasted for hours, in a crawl space.

I don't even blame Tawana Brawley. She was an immature 15 y/o girl at the time and was manipulated by political hungry men. This grown woman was involved in an incident and (I believe) she massaged the facts for whatever reason. I just hope an innocent Dominican or Haitian doesn't get fired or worse.

She said she was dragged into the crawl space, after the attack.
