Authorities seize JetSet Nightclub site after fatal roof collapse

On 6 May 2025, the Public Ministry, the prosecutor arm of the Attorney General Office seizedthe property where the Jet Set nightclub operated, following the devastating collapse that claimed the lives of more than 234 people and injured over 180 others during a live concert featuring merengue artist Rubby Pérez, who was among the fatalities. The tragedy occurred in the early hours of 8 April 2025.

Accompanied by attorneys for club owner Antonio Espaillat, including Miguel Valerio—who is coordinating the defense—the Public Ministry placed a “seized” sign on the establishment. When approached by journalists from Listín Diario, Valerio stated that this action is standard procedure during an investigation.

Meanwhile, complaints and reports from injured victims continue to pour into the National District Attorney’s Office.

Normal after a tragedy. I'm guessing this time they'll keep it so they can build their memorial park.
