I remember very clearly when the tunnels on 27 de Feb were being built. A close friend of ours had a property out near Boca Chica, and he bought all the rocks that were excavated; he had perimeter walls built with them. Gorgeous.

More amazing is they did it almost completely without disrupting traffic.

Good morning to y’all fine people ;

Question :

In regards 27 DE FEBRERO does this avenue crosses nice neighborhoods only or bad neighborhoods only OR is it a combinations or BOTH types and IF it’s a combo can y’all break it down ? Per example “from 42nd street to 96th street is call MIDTOWN which falls under GOOD NEIGHBORHOOD”

Thanks

Both, it is a freeway/expressway. Use goggle and find out for yourself what are the good neighborhoods in Santo Domingo.

I used to walk 27 Febrero a couple of years ago when I was donating money to my chiropractor's boat fund. I would walk 3 times a week from Bella Vista to Parque Enriquillo when I was finished, always around 12 noonish. I took the guagua on 27 Feb there in the morning. Never had a problem. The only issue is making sure you do what mom says about looking both ways when crossing the street. It's important.

Thanks for answer/comment , appreciated SIR.

SIDENOTE : BUT did you just said you would walk 27 de febrero avenue alone!? Wow you are in my list of most BRAVE person in DR1, even the guys who are always busting my chops for being a little “paranoid” about DR SAFETY would NOT dare to walk a MAIN comercial and rural avenue for hours… YOU ARE ONE BRAVE MAN SIR

I don't know if you are aware of this, but in Google Street View you can do a virtual tour of the avenue. While most people on it are in the vehicles, the sidewalks in many places aren't particularly dead with pedestrians and most don't look as they are traveling in groups or pairs. What NanSanPedro did is not that uncommon, though in general Dominicans don't like to walk and this is generational.

Absolutely lined with businesses on both sides of the highway from one side of the street to the other, so lots of foot traffic.
