bachata top ten recomendations?

Ok..they dont have to all be bachata. But i am trying to put a compilation cd together and I keep on getting stuck on which ones to include on the cd i am making.

I can probably get more than 10 songs a cd...but thought i would ask for folks favorite bachata, merengue or others for a must have compilation.

Most of my stuff is Frank Reyes, Raulin, Yoskar, L.M. D' amargue, Santos, Huey Dunbar, Aventura...uh...and Vives, and Guerra and some others.

Dang! no wonder i am having such a hard time! Perhaps i need to make it a double CD collection!

just a thought; if you save the files as .mp3 you can get a lot more songs per CD...like 50-100 depending on the "quality".

almost all CD players can play mp3's these days and it would only cost 1 CD to make a test copy to make sure it will work for your application :)

so far i like the rec's!

not going to make an mp3 cd tho (i kinow i could fit much more on that way). I want something that friends can play on their home stereo/center.

keep em coming. I have all the songs listed so far!

Right now you have to have Zacarias Ferreiras' "Dime que falto?" (this is the bachata of the year) and "es tan dificil". Zacarias is tearing it up right now.

Anthony santos is putting out some really good stuff lately ("Vete alejate de mi" is just awesome, para bien o para mal, etc).

A mix of the old and new always makes for a great cd IMO.

I have not heard any new songs by Frank Reyes or Raulin R as yet. I need to find time to dedicate to listening to some of these new releases. This year has been my most low key year for music purchases in the past ten years. I purchased only four cds this year and that will be it for 2007.

If you want some merengue picks go with Hector Acosta's album Sigo siendo yo (2006), Los Hermanos Rosario-Aura (2007). This is their new cd which is a gem. Other good artists: Los Toros Band, Rubby P?rez and some of Fernandito Villalona's music. One album in particular that's really good is Mal acostumbrado (2002).

Lesley, right now there's a new song "Dime Que Se Siente" it's a duo Raulin with Geovanny Polanco.

The song is ok, not that great.

To the OP, if you follow the same link you will hear the Top 10 bachatas, all current year songs. Maybe you'll like a few !

well...this info certainly has gotten me to narrow down some of my personal favorites...as well as some new names and ideas.
