Where did you see that? Looks like an English translation of Banreservas.
Law 13-24 governing the Reserve Bank of the Dominican Republic has come into effect following its promulgation by President Luis Abinader and publication in the Official Gazette.

Key updates in the legislation include adapting the bank’s name to Banco de Reservas de la República Dominicana – Banco Múltiple and ensuring the institution operates in alignment with the dynamic and competitive financial sector. The bank’s capital is set at RD$39,000 million, which can be adjusted by the board of directors as per the Monetary and Financial Law, without legislative approval, as long as the changes are from capital reserves.

Hope this helps.

Ah, thank you. I don’t read DT. I’ve never seen it referred to that way.

I've been banking with Banreservas for over a decade.
Zero complaints.
When I was renewing my tarjeta debito en dolares that I had with BanReservas, a few days after the renewal I had an unauthorized transaction, somebody bought something on the Internet using my card. The funny thing is that from the moment when I got the new card in the bank to the moment of that transaction, I have never used the card anywhere yet, never entered its data on any site or service, it was still in the same bank envelope and I never had time to open it, I was busy with other things . So it was clearly the inside job, somebody inside the bank stole the number/exp date/cvv2 code from the card even before the card was given to me. Of course, I explained all of that in my complaint to the bank, and I got my money back to the card account in a few days. But the question is, do I want any credit/debit cards with the bank who does things like that? No, I don't, so I closed all cards that I had with them.

Banreservas on
Av. 27 de Febrero @ Metropolitana (Santiago) 100%
My experiences have always been positive with this branch.
Both Carlos and Brandon at this location do a fantastic job.

I've banked/ had accounts in several different countries around the world and I've never gotten better service at a bank anywhere on this planet. I highly recommend Banreservas.

Wow, that's such a big statement, of course I have no idea what countries you compare to, but I have used about 10 different Scandinavian and Baltic banks for 25 years, and comparing to them any Dominican bank is just a bunch of imbeciles (sad but true). But, on the other hand, service in Dominican banks are much better than in Panama, Colombia and many other Central/South American countries.

In my opinion, BanReservas is not the best bank in DR, but not the worst one either. I still use my accounts there, but I stopped using any cards issued by them, for now my Banco Popular cards cover all my needs. I still have accounts and cards in some normal countries for doing things that Dominican banks are not good for.

Aren't there very long lines waiting to see a cashier, like there are at all Banreservas branches I have visited?

On every branch I've been to, yes. From what I understand is, that this is at least partially because Banreservas being the govt bank, things the govt pays out are paid via Banreservas, and there are also people who have no accounts etc. So most of the people who go simply to withdraw cash, go there...

I used to receive my salary there when working in the DR many moons ago and I had to always plan very carefully when even try to go withdraw cash. Spending hours on the line was not a feasible option for me...

I don't use them too much, but the ATMs at BR are normally reasonable with respect to lines. Go inside? Never again.

Honestly each bank has their negatives and positives. You (anyone) may have had a great experience with bank XYZ but yet my experience with them was not good. I also believe a lot can depend on the relationship you have built with the bank, managers, etc...and how it may affect the service you receive (in a good way).

They have installed electronic ticket machines since last year
at the Del Sol y 27 Feb locations which ask a few short questions
then print out a ticket based on the purpose of your visit.
Works like a charm.

The P.N., AMET and Guardia all do their banking with Banreservas so
best to avoid going around the 1st and the15th of every month.
They also offer dollar accounts in addition to pesos without any hassle.
