I do not think the children he had outside his marriage were "secret". His wife knew and his family knew. But given his "good guy" reputation no one wanted to "out the situation". That was probably until the mistress, mother of his "supposed" children wanted more. He has been with his wife for many, many years. Through the minors to the bigs, the good and the bad. His wife just accepted it like many do. Many things do not stay secret for long. I do hope he does right by his children..all of his children.

Whoa wait. If his children outside his marriage were not secret why do they just have a supposed mother instead of a fr sure one?

Who said "supposed mother"? I read "supposed children", which apparently implies the absence of a paternity test. ("Alleged children" would probably be a better phrase).

actually, the fact that you read alleged children does not mean that there is no paternity test. there can be one, and the author is unaware of it, and is therefore constrained to err on the side of caution.

Yeah right, did you ever stop to think that whenever there is a man with a woman that is not his there is also a woman right there with a man that is not hers? 100% of the time, without fail.
Der Fish

Well, yeah, an excellent point, but it does not rhyme.
According to what Graydread posted, Men have the women beat by an unimpressive 3%. so there seems to be a disparity with what people admit vs what they say they did.

If the married man has an affair with a married woman, they are both guilty of adultery.
Bur often the woman is younger and unmarried, in which case, he is an adulterer whereas she is guilty of fornication. (a fornicatress?)
Men are perhaps more likely admit affairs than women and probably have more partners.

We are completely ignoring homosexual affairs here as well. As well as barnyard sex.

I had not thought about it before, but we have adulterers and adulteresses, but somehow there is no feminine form for fornicator, since I
the word "fornicatress" I had to make up.

The standard accusation is that "all men have a lot of women." Not said above, but that is my starting point.

Well, if "having a double life" now means having an extra-marital affair, I suppose the number of human beings with a "double life" is huge.

Your text seems to imply that adultery is a 'Dominican thing'. That is simply not the case, and can be easily verified.

And being a tiguere and having a second family are quite different. Tigueres normally get involved in serious crimes, such as theft, drug-dealing, and possibly murder. Having a second-family (if that's what it is) may well be immoral (it obviously depends on culture and religion) but to my knowledge is not a crime either in the DR or the US.

I don't even know if the children are his. The articles says nothing about paternity testing. It is obviously to a mother's advantage to claim her children were fathered by a famous and rich man. We need to know if it is true or not.
nothing wrong with having a second family...in fact it displays a wonderful quality about the 'man'....he is family orientated. That should be encouraged

Seems like this is headed into "Men are from Mars" territory.

Jesse Jackson had a second, secret family. So did Gov. Ah-Nuld. It happens, welcome to the world.

A long time ago and far away I was at a party sitting drinking as the women talked. The other men were in the other room watching a boxing match, in which I have negative interest. So I drank and the women carried on about how all men have a lot of women. I interrupted and asked them if they knew in general how such stories get started. Negative resopnses. I pointed out that we were in the presence of 7 women in addition to my wife, and said wife had accused me of sexual relations with 6 of those 7, "Now I drink a lot and I may have had sex with several of you women here, but do not remember doing so with any of you. Any of you remember having had sex with me?" MY wife soon hustled me out of there for being too drunk. It was during that period of my wife when I developed my philosophy that at any given moment there are as many women having illicit sex as men. But that as you point out doesn't include those involved with same sex encounters, nur threesomes for that matter.

An addendum: What I said originally would not have included any same sex couples since I spoke of a man with a woman who was not his etc...

Colon probably was giving her cash to keep the transactions untraceable so his real wife wouldn't find out.

Then one of this woman's useless, bruta, cuero-del-diablo friends told her to take him to court to get more money, because without proof of payment he will appear to the judge as a deadbeat dad, despite honey walking into court with an 800 dollar cell phone and Gucci high heels with a chinchilla lining.

Good point. You coulda' been a lawyer. :D

...

Young people thinking of studying the law. There is a fortune to be made specializing in gay divorce.

Barnyard sex... tough to gather statistics.

Face it, men are hunter gatherers.

I like the carefully chosen words. Opening the question with "I drink a lot" and adding I do not "remember".

Cause it's like the movie said, if you don't remember it, it didn't happen.

Mea Culpa!

It was around 2006/2007 when Bartolo started to visit a small Cafe/Restaurant by the name Cafe Rubio in Northern Blvd, Queens.

Alexandra was working on and off at the time there, first as a waitress and also later as Bartender from time to time.

She had a knockout body a the time and attracted men like flies (good for biz).

Later the Cafe opened a wine bar on the read of the location to cater to a tad more affluent clients that now made the rounds, all thanks to Billy Berroa.

It was common to see MLB starts coming and going at the spot all the time. I built a type of showcase wall right by the entrance and continuing all the way to the end wall.

I went to Modell's and other sporting goods shopping for the jersey of all the big name players, all Dominicans, save for Jeter ( what can I say! I' a Yankee fan).

I also purchased a nice magic marker set of several colors, and proceeded to go online hunting for the signatures of the players. I did a good job at it!

First guy to come visit after the wall received the first "autographed" Jerseys, was Lugo.

He notice the ones already there and asked me why wasn't his shirt there??!!

I said bring it now and I'll put you on the prime location!

He walked out to his car outside and brought in his bag. Took out his entire uniform, save for the underwear (and I mean all of it).
He signed all of them and waited patiently for me to put it all in the display (this included the bat, gloves, glasses, ball, belt, spikes, uniform, etc...).

The second one to visit was none other than Big Pappy. He took off to his hotel and came back with his autographed stuff, but asked that I place his gear in the spot taken by Jeter. I certainly complied!

The rest just kept flowing.

Bartolo came with one of the players from the Mets, a PR catcher (Montero If I recall correctly), fat just like him and with a big head.

Alexandra was making the rounds that night and the rest went smooth.

Funny thing was she found his head to be weird but he made he laugh a lot.
The day they hitched, I was at her place she shared with another girl some distance away from the Cafe.
I had to bring her the bath towel to the shower because she left it atop the bed.

We had a long conversation about him and how she felt kind of not really wanting to meet anymore to avoid getting any more close than it was.

I told her she had nothing to lose and not to pay attention that he was married, if she was willing to keep it secret.
I told her to have fun and just enjoy the ride for as long it lasted, given how these guys are frugal with girls.

She relented and decided to dress up to go out with him (who btw was on his way there).

She simply introduced me as a close cousin and almost brother of her family (LOL).

The thing was Colon was really touched by this girl, like in crazy for her.

Went out and got her a hummer right away and had her move to a new place he paid for it all.

She was in panic. She didn't know what to do. Tells me she's not sure of what to do, and I asked her:

Do you love him? = No!
Do you Like him or feel good hanging with him? Yes! He's a very fun person!

I said: So what's the problem? You are not going to marry him! So have fun and don't let others tell you how to carry on!

Well... She did! But I never expected her to tell me later she was pregnant with his baby!

Wow! Knowing her, I knew she would change a lot from then on. I mean this was the kind of girl you pick up to party, not go see a movie with or stay home.

I told her just let him tell you how he wants to proceed and let it be. Either way you'll be ok.

That was years ago, until now.

Maybe some people might think of her as a gold digger or just interest. She is neither.
She never asked him to do something he already hadn't offered to her or done already.

To this moment she filed the legal action without making public her or his name, he did.

You see, Alex was always a party girl, wanting to have fun but if there was one thing that turned her off was money.

She would rather go have fun with a penny an hour clerk from 7/11 she liked than a million dollar a day broker just because he could.

I know for certain that she didn't want her private life exposed and that's exactly what Bartolo just did by letting his name be disclosed with his lawyer.

Later I'll look up my digital album and post a picture of her, at the time this happen and believe you me: She was outstanding!

Makes me wonder if Colon is manipulating her this way to force her to agree to something. Being realistic that her life now is an open book to people and her privacy has ended.

=================================================
All I know of barnyard sex is from rumors and crude jokes. mostly involving sheep, goats and poultry. I have never personally witnessed human and farm animal sex, other than in an occasional crude cartoon.
I do not understand why you think I "seem to know a lot" about it.

I only mentioned that it was not included in a discussion of marital infidelity or simple fornication.

If you wish more about the subject, you could google 'Catherine the Great and horse'. That is one of the most discussed alleged animal sex topics.

Why did the Farmer cross the road?

He had his "junk" stuck in that chicken.....

Seriously, this "hot news" about Colon couldn't be less relevant to anything important. It's a run-of-the-mill domestic problem which should never seen print.

Virgo, firstly, I did not invent the "Double Life" in the OP - it's the title of the news article.

Secondly, you can bluster all you want about how righteous Dominicans are, but we both know that there are a lot of Dominican men with a 'second base'. I'm not talking about cheating, I'm talking about a second family or very long term mistress. I know some who raised their kids from both families together, and I'm talking here about upper middle class people, not chopos. The wives very often know full well about the other woman, and while they don't like it, if they want their husband/marriage they turn a blind eye.
The bolded part reminded me of this classic song of Spanish singer Jos? Luis Perales.
