Diario Libre reports that resorts and hotels in the Bayahibe and Dominicus area closed after the passing of Hurricane Fiona. The hotels are under repair and excursions to Saona island, the main source of income to the businesses in the beach town of Bayahibe, have been temporarily discontinued. More than 5,000 tourists per day normally visit Bayahibe to take the boat excursions to Saona island.
Power service in Casa de Campo has been fully restored, but service in the city of La Romana is being gradually restored.
