When I'm out of of the DR, I'll shutdown almost everyting. I'm out couple of months, that will explain the difference. I have al small freezer inside refrigerator which is also cleaned and dicsonnected not a separate freezer.Do you not have a freezer? I always have food in the freezer and don't want to throw it away if I'm going home for a few weeks, so that means leaving the fridge/freezer turned on. And it's an inverter, the most efficient I could buy.
The trick is to keep the freezer and refrigerator as full as possible. Anytime you have a lot of empty space in them, you increase your consumption. How many times have you opened yours, and hear the compressor start running? When I'm out of of the DR, I'll shutdown almost everyting. I'm out couple of months, that will explain the difference. I had the exact same questionClearly I could be mixing things up but in post #30 Maria said she shut off inverter. So I guess she meant the inverter to house/apt., since the inverter for the AC is built in. I need a little clarification here. Sorry...I want to have this clear in my planning of the renovations on my new house.
Gee that is very high... Especially in the second and third tiers.. Higher than in GA per KWH.I've never been higher than 300. And once you hit the higher tariff, that's what you pay for ALL of you consumption.

What would they do with a refrigerator?Gee that is very high... Especially in the second and third tiers.. Higher than in GA per KWH.
No wonder poor people cannot afford... Also, many that I know have NO refrigerator...
I find that hard to understand.
Maria was talking about her inverter with batteries. I kinda confused everyone with my comment about Inverter A/C units.I understand SEER performance and 20 sounds correct. Now inverter enters my life with a new purchase I am making. So, if an inverter keeps going on and off...how important is the quality of the inverter and would the seer rating be any less important?? (BTW I have no experience with an inverter.)
I have mine on the ledge between the first and second floor. It puts them about 12 feet up. As far as I know there has been no attwmpts to steal them. It is a walled yard with good neighbours next door. Are inverters or outside units put into a cage to prevent thiefs? Reason I ask is because in my home country I have had my outside compresors stolen two times when I overlooked the cage during renovations.
Are each of these units (that are in 3 locations in the house) controlled by 3 smart apps or can you put 3 inside units on one larger sized outside unit? Second question... are the split units for the inside only compatible with the same brand outside unit? Are there any advantages to do something like that?Maria was talking about her inverter with batteries. I kinda confused everyone with my comment about Inverter A/C units.
If you're asking about SEER numbers you're asking about the efficiency of an Inverter A/C unit.
House inverters with batteries do not have a SEER number.
Since this thread is about Air conditioners, I won't write anything more about house inverters.
All of the compressors I've seen have bases with holes in them so they can be bolted to whatever they are on. When mine were installed they put a bolt in each corner, and I covered the nuts with grease. Even so, they are a rusted clump so they're going to be a little harder to remove, but they have always come off in the past. I think a thief would see those bolts and go on to the next one.I have mine on the ledge between the first and second floor. It puts them about 12 feet up. I've always seen each unit with its own matching compressor. I'm guessing that any good A/C guy could get mismatched units to work, but I would not go that route. Can't tell you about smart apps because I've never used them. Are each of these units (that are in 3 locations in the house) controlled by 3 smart apps or can you put 3 inside units on one larger sized outside unit? We have two 12 000 BTU mini splits, two computers, three fans, TV, fridge, lights, hot water tank, security system plus cameras, inversor with two batteries and our electrical is between 2000 and 2500 per month. AC is only on , normally from say 8 pm to 6 am.I'd love to know how anyone gets an electricity bill of RD$ 2000 a month. Even when I'm not living here mine is more than that.
What temperature is your A/C set at? Mine is at 80 which may seem high, but walk into my place from outside and you immediately feel the coolness. We have two 12 000 BTU mini splits, two computers, three fans, TV, fridge, lights, hot water tank, security system plus cameras, inversor with two batteries and our electrical is between 2000 and 2500 per month. On standard split units, any compressor unit will work with any inside evaporator unit. This is not the case with inverter units.
