There are none that will compare with wherever you came from. All pretty mediocre in Santiago. You need to go to SD.

Hi VV, I enjoy El Tablon,La Costilla de Adan, Pedro, and Ahi Bar for drinks. There are others, but can't remember off the top of my head.Go to Trip Advisor and search Santiago De Los Caballeros. There are many restaurants with pretty accurate descriptions/reviews.

I am really not looking for where I came from which is New York, but something other than the local chicken and rice place would be good...

Pez Dorado or Pasticcio (sp) both are good choices.

And yes, the aforementioned Chef Pepper...if you have a burger craving.

There no really good restaurants in Santiago.. Unfortunately I can't BS you on that one.. The best we have would probably be Noah's , Pedro's, El Tablon, Brixx has really good chicken parm, The new Jade Expreso (remodel) looks really nice and the food has gotten a bit better, but I wouldn't particularly recommend anything else..

Santiago is ripe for the pickin if someone comes here and opens up a good restaurant.. Punto delivery (food delivery company) does over 1000 deliveries per day with a selection of only 25 or so restaurants, it's ridiculous how many people eat out here but we just don't have the options at the moment.

Basically all of the good restaurants in Santiago would be mediocre in Miami or any other big city in the US.. one sad thing is Tony Roma's (while it was open), would be included in this list of good restaurants..

If you get a chance to get to Jarabacoa, check out jamaca de dios, now that I can firmly say is a great restaurant with a spectacular view, also parada corazon de dios for ribs is amazing on the way up to jarabacoa, they smoke the hell out of them every day and the place is basically one of the best places to eat in the country.

Camp david has a nice view but the food is very mediocre.
