Cheaper or more expensive than all the devices that have been purchased but nobody uses? All these tablets etc for starters...
Don't disagree with you, but those are private schools so much smaller purchase and no money from taxpayers, other than of course tuition.

IF, one should file as a non-profit, can they get a credit, re-imbursement, anything, from the gov?

I fully agree with you, no question about that, and you are also right in that it's even a bigger effort for private school. I just meant that had the ministry spent on those Smart Boards instead of those "now useless" tablets, perhaps they would have saved money and been capacitated to offer even better learning experience... Problem is if the teachers would have not known how to use those (as the agents from the ministry did not either), but still...

I agree with you all. And instead of providing devices to individuals, update the electronics in the classroom, tablets, smart boards, etc. Make the teacher accountable by taking regular inventories of devices in each classroom.

We own and use various times daily the only Smart Board in Jamao. When a commission from the Ministry of Education visited me this past week, they did not know what it was and thought our kids were watching tv!
Certainly explains a lot.

In defense (or not!) of the ministry of education, a good friend of mine told
me that there was a school in Plata Plata that received a smart board for every classroom.

Only problem was that the Ministry of Education provided no training on how to use it.

My friend asked me if I was interested in teaching the staff how to use their devices.

Me? Do the job for the Ministry of Education in a town almost 2 hours away from me and without one peso pay????

No thanks.
