Shout out to @RDKNIGHT a fellow drinker of the fermented and distilled malted barely juice.

I was in Pricesmart on the re-up tip and saw the Grand Old Par 12 for 1850 DOP
This is a increase over my last purchase price in Ron Depot of 1690 DOP

I also saw The Glenrothes 12 a Speyside Single Malt for 2800.
I knew nothing about it so I held off in order to do a little research to see if I should put it on my shelf.
I like having a single malts on my shelf for the sheer white hoodie snob factor if noting else (usually wear a black hoodie).
But more importantly the whiskey wash review says it may go good with salami.
That is a Scotch you need in 🇩🇴
😜

As I stated in my last post I was in PriceSmart on the re-up tip.
Selection was really down for my usual selections.
What good is having rice and beans in your pantry if you can't drink well.

Fortunately for me they had one of my standards on the shelf.
So I grabbed the net and held on tight until I got to the caja.
:poop: the scan said 1180. That is up from 1100. That is a 7.273% increase.
Dat be a straight rob 🔫 of Yourmaninvegas.
Inflation is real people.
Guess I gonna have to cut back...nah
This is my goto mixer for my rum punch.

Now if I could just find a beach in the Dominican Republic with the right ambiance.
Wait, wait, I already have.
I posted about it here on DR1
And I haven't even had a chance to explore all the beaches in the 🇩🇴 on my list.

This is a public service announcement:
"Don't hate the player. Hate the game!!"

EASTSIDE!!

Here and there
Since Johne apparently can't do an internet search on his own.... ;) :p LOL

It depends on the size of the bottle ;)

For a 750ml bottle about $23 give or take $2 although I've seen it under $20 online and in the USA

No idea what it would sell for in a Duty-Free or in the DR if it was even readily available.

It's an ok rum IMO, just fine for mixing but I prefer the older, not necessarily the oldest or dearest, when I can get my hands on it. There are better Dominican rums for the age and price point

Always with the negative comments. I thought you had me on ignore? Why do you even bother getting up in the morning mi amigo?

Perhaps you should hire a minder to assist you with your thinking ;)

I have a great life! :D I BOUNCE out of bed, eager to tackle the many wonderful options and challenges I have, unlike some here with nothing better to do but be negative and ungrateful ;)

Our Man can't answer...........
Ah...but I can.

And here are the answers to your post in The Empire Strikes back #54 (thread now closed):

My bar is well stocked.
And you know this.
But if you did not know this...now you do.
I have eight different rums on my Rum shelf alone.
Seven are sippers that I would re-up on.
The last one is my goto mixer that I just re-up'ed on at 1.75 liters.
You should not be hating.
But we are all free to DOWHATWELIKE!!

Now tell me why you could not answer the question posed by @johne?
After all you started a rum thread (not much activity over there I've noticed).

Did you even know that Barbancourt 4 (from Haiti) is a Rhum and what the actual difference is from ron?

Personally, I doubt it.
I've been in six different liquor stores on the North Coast and I did not see Rhum of any type in the stores.

I also noticed that you are paying close attention to the time stamps of my posts...why is that?
Is it because I post the majority of them after your bedtime?
Real man activities occur in my life late at night.
I can't speak to yours.
You are always able to read my posts (which I know you do) when you get up or after your afternoon naps.

This is not my thread.
This a thread where I hoped useable intelligence could be compiled on spirits for sale in the Dominican Republic.
I am not responsible for answering every question on every spirit for sale in the Dominican Republic.
In fact that is why I started this thread...
To pull on the knowledge of others with more experience.

Thank you for you input as always 🤪

What you know about rolling down in the deep?
When your brain goes numb you can call that mental freeze.
When you people talk too much you need to put that ____ in slow motion.
And when you need to feel better take a dip in the ocean.

Only took you three days to answer the question from @johne.
So good see that you WOKE up.

1085 DOP

Is that for the:
Barbancourt 4?
Barbancourt 8?
or the
Barbancourt 15?

In which store in Cabrera?

Nice to see you actually adding some useful content to the thread.
No matter what time of day.
Thank you ‼️

What would you consider is a "good price" for Haiti Banacourt 4 y.o??
quickly before I get banned again (or sent on vacation, given a break, catch a case or hit with the whip)

Rhum Barbancourt 4 year
1015 DOP
Liquormart on Avenida Kennedy
Price was observed on July 7, 2022

You didn't ask but I recommend the 8 year
But I have not tasted the 4 year.

Following up on The Glenrothes 12 a Speyside Single Malt for 2800.
It is now on my shelf.
On the box it says: "Matured only in seasoned oak casks and bottled at natural colour".
The bottle is beautiful.
Works for me a sipper when I am on my scotch tip and need a break from my favorite Bourbon
I do not drink or know enough about scotch to make a recommendation.
But now I am feeling like a need to learn something about cigars...

One of the things I do enjoy about living in the 🇩🇴 is that whenever I choose I can live as if I am at a resort.
Before I moved here I used to travel like many others and although not my favorite my travel partners would often prefer to stay at a resort.
One of my favorite things to do while on vacation was to start breakfast out with a coffee and orange juice mixed with vodka.
And this morning I did exactly that...except I woke up in my own home.
And it was a new mix
Deep Eddy Vodka, Distilled 10 times in Austin Texas, base grain is corn. And for those who know a little about me, that is a natural fit.
Deep Eddy Vodka rocks. Hit it neat to learn the flavor profile. Sweet and silky with no bitter aftertaste at all. This my new goto everyday mixer. My vodka bench just got deeper. With strong depth of position. I can go hard in the paint and mix it up good.

Looked up your Bourbon Cream
It is a creation from the Buffalo Trace Distillery
The reason it is so good is because the base is Buffalo Trace Bourbon.
A very good bourbon.
Rare and very expense (at least for me) here in 🇩🇴 .
Never seen Bourbon Cream here in 🇩🇴.
Probably a hand carry item unless you can get your local vendor to order it for you.

If you can find a bottle of Buffalo Trace Bourbon (I've seen it in Santiago and Licormart (Kennedy) Santo Domingo)

...here is a home solution:

Smirnoff Ice Green Apple Bite
Available almost every where I have looked here 🇩🇴 where things like this are sold.

What is it?
It is a mixed vodka drink in a can
350 ml ABV 4%
109 pesos currently on sale at Olé
Can
Also comes in a bottle. But the can is better value. You get more in the can for fewer pesos.

So good on my taste buds it makes me want to use inappropriate language every time I take a sip to express my satisfaction.
It goes hard in the paint and finishes strong every time.
Sweet 🍏

The genius is that it is a mix, in a can, ready to go when you are ready to drink without any preparation needed.
Just put it on ice
Or keep it on ice like I do until I am ready to drink.
