Anybody here having problems with their BPD token not functioning on their desktop computer?

Whenever they have a problem of any sort, they fall back on the secondary validation with the token.

Normally I get access with my login and password, but the last few days they've been requiring my token number every time I do any sort of a transaction, even between my accounts.

As of yesterday, I'm getting a message saying they couldn't validate my token, and to try again with the next number, which gives me the same message.

I can access my account balances on my cel phone app, but can't make any transactions.

Just wondering if it's my token only, or everybodys.

I did a few things on my laptop with BPD today, and needed to put in my token a couple of times when entering but had no issues. My cell phone app has the tokens, and I assume yours does too...but if not and you still have the old key-fob type, maybe it has expired? I think they phased those out during the past year, but maybe not all.

Is it a physical token, or one generated by your app? I discovered the hard way that the physical ones expire. The date is stamped on the back.

Me and my wife have physical tokens, web (desktop) version started to require to enter it after login and password about six months ago for my account, and about two months ago for my wife's account. Then no token number is required for transactions between own accounts or earlier added beneficiaries or paying bills, but it's required to add new beneficiaries or for an international (SWIFT) transfer.

No problem with validation of token right now, works from the first attempt.

They have a limited quantity of physical tokens only for corporate accounts. But I came to my branch when my old one expired and I said that I want to have a physical token for my personal accounts. They said no, and then I asked to show me where in the contract it says that it's mandatory to have a smartphone to access my account. I said I don't want use a smartphone, period. So they told me to go upstairs to the directora of the sucursal, I had to sign some papers and she gave me a new physical token. So it's still possible to have one if you want.

Bingo. My physical token expired today.

Both my phone app and my desktop app are requesting it so I'm guessing it's due to being expired.

I'll contact my manager to see what's up on Thursday. I'm guessing it's a setting they have to adjust.

I haven't used it in a very long time, so it's a little odd they ask for it when it's expiring.

We'll see what happens. Thanks to all who responded.

When mine expired for my business account, I had to set up a free personal account just to generate digital tokens via the app. I like that better than a physical token, because it can be done from my phone or tablet.

You can set up a token on your app right now if you are a citizen, the app just asks you to take a picture of your right hand and it recognizes your fingerprints to confirm it's you, their app pulls the fingerprints from JCE database. Not sure if it will work for residents, and for sure it won't work for people who opened accounts with foreign passports, but for citizens it works instantly.

In my case, I can set up a token on a smartphone at any minute using my fingerprints, I just don't want it, I like to use the physical token.

@JD Jones if you do need to go to the bank, you may want to make an appointment via their website (no need to log in, just click "Turnos y Citas" at the bottom of the page. Not all branches offer those, but if one that is convenient for you does, it's definitely better than waiting for lord knows how long at the bank (especially tomorrow or Friday!) I use the appointments often just to save that headache

I don't know about anyone else, but on my desktop the "Turnos y Citas" link is dead.

BPD is going through some changes to its security system as well.

I've now been presented with 3 new security check options—matching patterns, scanning fingerprints, and sliding a pattern to match other patterns—and that's before I even try to log in.

My token no longer has numbers; just shows "OFF".

I also can no longer see my balances on my mobile app.

Move to BHD Bank and avoid these headaches...........

It wouldn't have been an issue if it wasn't New Years Day.

My manager(s) has always given me top shelf service with the few issues I've had in the past. (Knock on wood)

Let's see if she contacts me this morning.

So, gotta do physical presence at the office with my passport.

There is an option as mentioned before to scan fingerprints for the token, but it ain't working for me, so it's office or nada.

She gave me an appointment so I can walk in and not have to wait.

Let's see what happens.

So, ready for a laugh? I decided to try the fingerprint option to set up an online security code.

I had to go through a couple of selections then it came to a screen where it tells you to put your fingers on the screen to read your fingerprints.

I must have tried that 20 times, each time moving my fingers around on the screen a bit but it would not read them.

I finally threw in the towel and called my manager, and she told me to come in.

When I got there, I showed her how it didn't work.

She told me I had to point my camera at my fingertips like I was going to take a picture of them - not place them on the screen.

When I did that, it took a split second to read my prints. Duh!

Then we waited for the code. And waited. She said she would give me a new token.

So, all's well that ends well.. until Jan 31, 2028

I was responding the same: replace it with the digital token from their app and scan your fingertips.

I was a heavy user of the physical token until I did the switch 4 years ago. Currently using everything to the app.

Popular has been phasing out the old system for years so the App -has and must be- the only device to control everything around Popularenlinea.

I was against about it 4 years ago (I really like the web version because of simplicity) but nowdays the app is more functional than the desktop version for everyting.

I like the digital token within the app, because if I am out and about, I can still do transactions in the app if necessary and not need to also carry the old key-fob style token too. And, I too like doing bank stuff online from my laptop, and since my phone is usually beside me when I do, the app token is right there if I need it...no need to go get the old token.

EVERY time I go thru immigration at S DQ my finger prints do not match the agents computer. I then need to go to the office which Is just a few feet away and it is checked by a super agent. Takes less than 5 minutes. Then return to original agent. That immediately stamps passport.
I now hand pp to first agent and say___ my prints don't match and will go to office. 😀

The app token? Do you have to scan your fingers every time you use it?
