Can someone update me on the prices of concrete blocks since this last post?? I had heard they had gone way up again. We are adding on to our house and the estimates are a LOT higher than we expected.

Since feb to now i had paid the same prices here in Santiago for the most important things like blocks, bars, .... sometimes i get the cement/bag for 250.-!! The blocks going up for 50 centavos, what does it means "a lot"?

A "LOT" is twice as much as a "LITTLE", or land to build a house.

bars are 2250.-/quint. 3/8.... blocks of 6" are now 24,- (23.50 before). But all depends where, quantity, (quality, .. no name blocks!) and how do you deal with the guys! Sometimes is better to work with a local masterbuilder to get estimates.
