I just received at quote on a new 2007 Toyota RAV4 from Delta Commercial.
The price was $37,500 US.

A quick check at Edmunds.com shows the RAV4 goes from $20,950 up to $25,840 list price in the USA.

That would put the DR price at somewhere between 45% to 79% higher than list price in the US depending upon exactly what model they are selling here for $37,500 US.

BobK apparently got a great deal at only 25% over list in the US.
Those prices make more sense to me.
I could easily believe an average of +40% to +50% for new vehicles.

Man, this thread is really making me sad. I just moved here about two months ago and I am just getting comfortable to drive here. I want to buy a car, but these prices are really high. I have a Mercedes that is less than two years old back in my country and I am scared to ship it here. I thought about buying here, but after reading this thread, I am in sticker shock. I guess sooner or later I will get over it.
