Is there a safe, decent Cabana near the airport where I could rest for a few hours after travel?
Could a taxi drop me off there?
I am solo female flying into STI @3am and have a medical appointment at 10am near LosJardines.
Or should I just look for a simple hotel in Santiago…
Any recommendations?

For me, unless I am leaving after my appointment then I would find a hotel. There are few hotels, but I would guess it depends on your budget.

Hit up google maps. Find Santiago. Then Cabanas. You will find many of high quality with pictures and reviews near the airport on the main route heading into the monument area of Santiago. You will pay a flat fee from your time of check in until check out. You can even contact the one of your choice ahead of time and let them know your arrangements. Because I hear on the weekends they can get a little busy. :sneaky:

Cabarete
There was another thread a while ago where several members posted recommendations of some very nice cabanas that they stayed at on the main highway from the airport to Santiago. Very reasonable rates, too. Sorry, I don't remember any names.

Exactly.

Lots of hotels available. The closest to the airport would be the Hodelpa. They also have contracts with several airlines for flight crew layovers, so an early AM arrival would not be a problem for them.

O the other hand, if this is a fly in/fly out situation, then one of the previously mentioned Cabanas would do just fine for the OP's needs.

Blue Collar Town in New Jersey
Hotel Los Jardines is very nice and economical , very small rooms but its Clean, and they give you a nice little breakfast . Across the street they have shops now I think, when we used to go it was a Parking lot where we parked the Rental .. A room used to be like 2400 but now they are like 3800 or so . Its pretty quiet in that Hotel ,maybe what you need . On the upper end , Grand Almirante is right up the Hill, they have a Casino and nice breakfast ,but they are more expensive . their Pool and Hot Tub area is very nice ..You will meet a nice class of people there . I always thoroughly enjoyed my stay at that Hotel back in the day before I started doing Airbnb ...

The poster says she has business in the Morning in Los Jardines area , which is the only reason I mentioned it .
Given that the OP has decided against a Cabana and will be headed to a hotel, and given the fact she has a dental appointment in Los Jardines (Dental Cibao?), then Hotel Los Jardines makes perfect sense. Good area, reasonably priced, and close to her appointment.

I always ask for the center room with no windows. I'm not sure why, but I sleep like a rock when I'm there.
