cable car

hi, I'm writing to ask if anyone knows about the cable car in Puerto Plata that takes people up the mountain (it's mostly a tourist thing, i'm guessing)
if you do know about it, is it worth the money and time to take the trip?
on my recent trip to the Dominican Republic i had heard about it from someone, but we ran out of time to check it out...so i'm just getting advice for a trip in the future. thanks!

Its really worth it.
Just check so you have a clear weather, and you will have the most stunning view from there! Completely stunning!
Up on the top there is a botanical garden, presenting pretty much of the flora in the Dominican Republic.
I remember someone asked a simular question, and a nice person replied with phone # and everything. Maybe you can try the search funcion on the message board, otherwise just ask your hotel to call them before you go to make sure it is open.
