people need to remember how poor people are here. poor and sometimes desperate.

Yes, he had lived down there for at least the 10 years I knew him. He had family in Canada who he would come back to visit, and it was during these visits we would get together. I saw him more often during my visits to the DR. He lived in Puerto Plata, Santiago and Santo Domingo at different stages. He was street savvy and did not flaunt his wealth that I ever witnessed. He also didn't drink too excess that I saw as well. He crossed paths with people from all economic levels, so something went terribly south this fateful night
