Cargo ship collided with Puerto Plata port still in port

The cargo ship that collided on Saturday, 25 March 2023 with the cargo port in the city of Puerto Plata is still in port. The ship chipped away the east corner of the dock while it was maneuvering to reach the breakwater. The ship is still anchored at the commercial dock. No one was injured in the vessel’s collision with the commercial dock in Puerto Plata city.

Cranes are proceeding to unload thousands of tons of grain (corn and soybeans) from the ship. As a result of the collision, the cargo vessel “Dynamic Striker” suffered a large crack on the left side of its bow.
