I wonder if the date of this does it apply just to PUJ? I've flown in and out of the DR multiple times, not at Punta Cana though, in the last year or so with nail clippers, metal nail file, tweezers, toothpaste, shampoo and conditioner, etc and never stopped or inspected or even looked at twice

They can issue PDF's all Day long but what does it help if nobody ever enforces this codes. After Brussels, PUJ is the less observant airport on earth. Even the Drug Sniffing Dog's are a Joke.
I think that from PUJ you can even travel with a shrink wrapped machine gun.

We all know that there are the rules and then what actually occurs. Some are lucky and have no issues, others are not so lucky. It is a good reference to have regardless of which airport in the DR you are traveling in or out of.

I was not implying it wasn't. I was more curious if it was just for that particular airport since ownership and management is different depending on which airport you use is it not?

I would use it as a reference. IMO it doesn't matter which airport; it depends more on the person who is doing the checking at the airport.

I have found some wide variations at the 4 major airports. I've only flown in and out of PUJ once and not recently. There were no issues and it was fast and easy. Same with POP. At SDQ I've felt more scrutiny but it was business like and quick. I quit flying through STI. I always felt they were looking for unnecessary issues and I've had my bags searched much more often there. In the past, years ago when I checked a bag, I had items go missing. I filed a complaint but got no satisfaction so I quit going there.

I fly through STI all the time and never had an issue. One time flying through POP my wife and I had about 5 lbs of coffee and a bag full of wild oregano. This was in a check in bag. We got called about ten minutes before flt in to back room with three agents. Once they saw the oregano and my explain that we were taking it to her mother in Canada, they all asked for a bit of it so they all got a little bag and filled it with oregano and closed up the suitcase and off we went just in time to get on thre plane.

The list prohibits diabetes related equipment, including the testing ones, in carry on baggage. That does not sound reasonable. Should allow insulin injectors at least. Because they are quite similar to epinephrine injectors, which should also not be prohibited. I suppose this is not enforced as strictly as the ones for, say, blowtorches and machetes

I agree. A diabetic should not be separated from their meds.

It’s the luck of the draw. One year I had a new (expensive) cuticle nipper confiscated at SDQ, a 1/4 jaw, which is the tiniest one. Mr AE was so mad he tried to break it before handing it over, but it was made too well. Last week I had two of them in my carryon, both needed sharpening so i figured if they took them it would be no great loss. Never even looked at them.

Once flew POP to JFK or MIA, going thru security for the connecting flight the TSA found my Swiss Army knife in my backpack. Confiscated. It was there since POP, forgot I had it. Apologized and off I went.

I only fly STI.
They check.
I wouldn't suggest anyone ignore the rules in this airport.

They once tried to confiscate some nail clippers at POP. When I asked why, security pointed to the little 1.5" nail file that's on most clippers. So, I opened out the file and broke it off and kept my clippers. The look on his face was priceless.

When I was a smoker I would go through POP with the bic lighter in my pocket and it was always taken. I started putting it in my carryon and it would go through.
