Today for the first time I went to the Casa Cuesta Electro tienda. I bought a Hamilton Beach electric coffee grinder for $26. I don't know if that's a good price or not, but they do seem to have a lot of electronics, and the store looked very nice, very Best Buyish. Very clean and very new.

It's in a small shopping center called Metro Plaza San Isidro on Autopista de San Isidro. Easy 12 minute walk from the Smart Fit Gym. The plaza has a salad bar restaurant called Green Bowl. I didn't go in but it looks interesting. There's also a McDonalds and a Starbux in the vicinity. I'm thinking of trying the Green Bowl this coming Saturday.

Casa Cuesta is one of the best home stores on the island but each time I go in there I add a couple of words to the end so it says Casa Cuesta una fortuna!!! Although their prices are high, you do pay for far superior quality. A great store that I frequent each time I go to Santiago or Santo Domingo. This is the first time that I have heard that they have individual electro stores though. I looked at their website, they have pretty good prices.

I was there yesterday, need a protector for our refrigator, found it for 900 pesos. Nan the next time you visit this place take a look at ALISS at the left, Great store with clothes, furniture and many more.
Aut. San Isidro has all stores now like the D.N., I'm very happy that soon opens my favorit Ferreteria, Almacenes Unidos and I don't need to cross anymore the city to go there store on Kennedy.

Thanks for the heads up. How would you compare Jumbo with ALISS?

Not really on the subject but in regards to your purchase; open your power outlet, and see if ground is conected (i guarantee you it's not). If the ground is not conected, the best surge protector is useless.

All my outlet are ground connected as well as the long copper rod outside. All done when the house was built and done by a Dominican electrician.

You are really lucky ! I have seen 3rd world electricity installation in 600K apartements. I meet "Electricians" how insisted that ground and neutral are the same.

Jumbo sells food, ALISS don't. Go in and have a look, after that eat some rich salad.
So I went today and it's a lot nicer than Jumbo, just very sparsely attended. There were more employees than customers. I did find a shirt I liked though.

As far as Green Bowl, not too impressed. I had the steak salad and it was ok but nothing to write mom about. There's also a build your own pasta and a build your own burger which I will try next time.

You’re a lucky man. I wish I could say the same.

I like their bowls, their prices... not so much.
