Hi everyone:

My husband and I have only been to Punta Cana once and we're planning another trip but have a question about
casinos. Last time we went to the Hard Rock casino a few times but want to know if there are also any other casinos open to the public around the PC area? I could swear I saw one somewhat near Gladys'? Or am I wrong?

A friend told me we can pay for a pass to use the casinos in some of the resorts but I think that would add up fairly quickly. We've got a condo and a car rented so getting around is not a problem.

Any other casinos in the area we can check out? Also, there are no casinos in Cap Cana, or at least none that are open to the public, correct?

Casinos

There is a casino in El Cortecito opposit the entrance of the Carabela Resort, same street as
Posada de Gladys.

The casinos at the Paradisus and Melia resorts are open to the public. When you stop at the resort entrance you tell the guards you are going to the casinos and they will allow you to pass.

Regards,

PJT

PJT:

Thank you so much! That's just the information I was looking for. Yes, it was the Carabela that I had seen. So I wasn't imagining it. :)

I didn't realize those two resorts allowed you to go in to the casino. Good to know.

Any other casino in PC is a joke compared to the Hard Rock. Don't waste your time, just head over to the Hard Rock.

Sky: Yes, I've heard that but want to check out some others as well.

Dolores - Most of those do not allow public access, correct? I assume they are just for guests at most of the hotels?

If you want to check out others I would suggest Princess Tower Casino. It is in just past Bavaro Plaza on your right. Not in a hotel as Dolores said. But a nice Casino. But for dice I think only the Hard Rock would fit.

I would think a good number of these hotels allow public access to the casinos. Some will bundle casino playing with a show for a night pass. But the Princess Tower Casino is outside a hotel and open to the general public.

The casino at Vista Sol (nee Carabela) isn't open anymore. They seem to be renovating the space, who knows what they'll do with it when done.

Tower Casino's floor (when I was last there) was horrendous. All but threadbare and you could feel the wood flooring give with many a step.

A lot of the resorts have smaller casinos, but if it's on the resort property, security may not let you in. Hard Rock Resort has the casino split from the space for resort guests, so there's no issue with non-guests entering. But it's way north along the strip of resorts. Tower is probably the better casino in Bavaro proper. Hopefully they have improved the flooring.

Yes, we've been to Hard Rock's casino and really like it. The drive is kind of a pain to do every night though so that's why I wanted to see if there were others closer. We're renting at Stanza Mare. Too bad the Carabella is closed - That's a perfect distance, but I'll try the Tower definitely.

Thanks everyone! As usual, I can always count on getting the information I need from the people on here! :)

EVERY Casino is open to the public, they are all more than happy to take your Pesos, USD, or Euros.

Actually, EVERY casino is NOT open to the public!
My friend's company has dozens of casinos, some are only for the "AI' where they are located guests.
He has some "Agreements" with some of the "AI's", to provide outsiders staying at other "AI's",special bracelets to enter, but only into the casino.
They really don't want local Dominicans to come in.
