Catalonia and Beach Nudity

I am considering visiting the Catalonia Bavaro at Punta Cana. Does anyone have any experience with this Resort? I have read about the Casino reports but is the Resort itself okay? Also, I know this may sound a little prudish, but I will have my two boys with me, what is the policy on beach nudity or topless sunbathing? Hope someone can help.

I don't know about that area but on the north coast topless is O.K. From my experience you do not see to much of it. I just returned last week and did not see anybody topless. Hope this is a help.

Just got back from staying at the resort north of the Catalonia. The guests on our shuttle bus said they loved the resort BUT...there is topless sunbathing permitted on the beach. We travel with our 11 yr. old son and he really didn't seem to notice it once he got over the first initial shock. Have fun!

Thanks for responding. I know I might be overly concerned about what my young sons will see, I'm sure everything will be okay. Could you tell me if everything was at least tasteful and not crude or sexually overt? Thanks

I think you may have a problem with nudity. See a psychiatrist at once! What you will experience is a cultural difference between europeans and americans not a peep show. Sure your kids will be curious at first but that will wear off soon unless they try to touch the guests inapproprately which they shouldnt if they had a proper upbringing. This is not Hedonism in Jamiaca.

We just returned from Villas Bavaro in Punta Cana and there was no total nudity but lots of topless. We being US citizens have a different view I think that most Europeans (and they far out numbered us). After the initial surprise it was very ok. It seemed to be totally non sexual and totally accepted. I actually admire their body acceptance attitudes. There were no perfect bodies there and it did not matter what age or shape they were in. Hope you have a great trip!
